so this is a trend i've leaned towards in my music lately.
this new song i'm working on, however, has 2 guitar tracks,
and one of them actually has some distortion, and it's
starting to sound a little like a rock song (a la
Radiohead). i dunno how i feel about this direction. i'm
thinking i should probably just work on another song and
make it completely electronic.

what do you guys think about using guitar in your electronic
music? you think i should at least try to finish this
"rock?" song? or maybe change it so that it sounds less
rock? hELP! D:

I love it and hate it but I drain songs and kill them.

I think you should follow your inspiration. You don't want
to miss out on making something amazing just because it
sounds too much like a genre you don't normally listen to.

i actually do listen to a lot of guitar music. i grew up on
shoegaze, indie rock and psychedelia. i just don't know if i
want the guitar to be a part of my reputation i guess. the
problem is that I've done better guitar stuff in the past,
but this new song I just have a weird feeling about i guess.

I still stand by what I said. Don't let what you want your
reputation to be stand in the way of making good music.

If you're worried about your "reputation" you've got it all
wrong. Do what feels natural.

He has a rep for having the best one too. Reputation that
is.
