Is AFX IDM?

I just started listening to Analogue Bubblebath 3.1 and it
is fucking good.

is AFX the only worthwhile thing that has come of the 20th
and 21st century? Probably, yes.

Is this a bad thing? No.

Fuck the labelling of good electronic music as IDM or EDM or
whatever, I don't think RDJ gives a fuck. What its influence
has on music of today is the only thing of importance. I met
the fucker, I should know. ;)

The fact I have met him has nothing to do with anything has
nothing to do with it. I don't know him any better for what
I said to him, so sorry for mentioning it. I just wanted to
impress the fact that I truly did meet him. No one believes
me, but I did. ATP Minehead, I did meet Richard D James. I
asked him if he was going to play the same set that he
played the night before. He said he was asked the same thing
by many other people and no, he would be playing a different
set. And he did. And it kicked fucking ass.

:(

I only wanted to impress the fact that it is true and XL-ers
seem to only believe things if they see images of it
occuring before their eyes.

In a way I don't give a fuck who believes that I met RDJ. At
the same time I like and respect every XL member in a way I
will never to be able to verbalise.

"I wish the milk man would deliver my milk man would deliver
my milk. In the mornin'. I wish the milk man would deliver
my milk man would deliver my milk. When I'm yawnin'."

I love the way RDJ seemed to have written this track that
morning, with the track and idea still fresh in his head.
May one other human/musical god or otherwise capture this
effortless spontaneity in this music. At least once in
someone's lifetime, though I fucking doubt it, lol.

thats like, the most ridiculous thing ive ever read. funny

as for your question, yes, aphex is the head of the dying
idm scene.

actually, why dont we once and for all say fuck genres, i
just want to listen to music i like!
whether or not aphex or anyone else is idm, braindance or
listening techno doesn't matter, what matters is how you as
an individual react when you hear the music.

that magical moment when the airwaves hit your ear and
musical information is perceived by the brain.
thats really all you need to worry about.
screw all the extra stuff on top.

"is AFX the only worthwhile thing that has come of the 20th

these have to be the words of a troll.

things [in entertainment] that I like more than aphex:

Autechre. (by far)
LOST.
The Dark Tower.
Monkey Island.
David Lynch.
Pink Floyd.
Seinfeld.
Lord Of The Rings.

I could keep going on.

drukQs is the only thing RDJ has made that I would consider
amongst my all time favorites. Well ok, maybe Windowlicker
as well.

Rich shouldn't be included in any group whatsoever,
especially the dying IDM genre. He's an O.G.
