For anyone considering buying the Sonos Multi-Room Music
System, DONT!

2 months ago I ended up buying the Sonos Bundle 250 which
comes with a zp90, zp120 and a remote for 1000 bucks.

I'll admit the system looks great, its beautifully
designed.
The sound quality is decent, but I wouldnt call it
audiophile quality though. The initial set up was a little
confusing but after a few hours I had everything up and
running.

The remote is very nice, but it tended to get a little
sluggish from time to time. The music also tended to freeze
up randomly which definitely sucked.

Now intially I only loaded/indexed the first half of my
music which was about 40,000 files. I planned on adding the
rest as soon as I moved the files from another harddrive.
I started to do this slowly, i planned to do it over a month
period. After a week, it mysteriously stopped indexing
anymore music, infact it would not add any music at all!!

At this point its about 48,000 music files and no more music
could be added. So I decide to go to the Sonos forums for
help and to my amazement I come to find out that Sonos has a
limit on how much can be indexed.
According to the peeps in the forum the limit is somewhere
around 60,000 files (which is more than my 48,000), but
thats only if the files dont have any tags. In other words
if you tag your files properly and add album art to them,
the limit is actually quite smaller. So in other words, my
1000 dollar purchase is not officially obsolete! The have no
plans to fix this either.

To make things worse, the assholes at Sonos dont see the big
deal, their response to my compaint was questioning why I
would want to listen to so much music at once and
recommended I use a streaming music service like Rhapsody or
Napster instead. In other words theyre telling me to fuck
off.

I am now selling my Sonos on Craigslist and purchased a
Logitech Squeezebox Duet for 700 dollars less than the
Sonos!
It does everything the Sonos does just as good and it doesnt
have the shitty file limit th

when i complained phobia asked why I would want to type so

blogger or facebook instead.

i'm sure a lot of those people that fall between the two
stools of not having enough money and having too much money
and no self awareness really feel your pain

Thats the thing I dont have alot of money, but I do love
music and saved quite a bit for this purchase. Good thing
is a few people are interested in buying the Sonos on
craigslist.

For that money you could have hired a midget to follow you
from room to room stabbing your legs with a ballpoint pen.

Maybe you should have checked how many songs it could hold
before you splurged a grand on it.

ah i can hardly say anything, since i've spent similar
amounts on audio hardware, only to sell it equally as
quickly.

but yeah, research the shit out of something before you
buy... sometimes it's good to learn the hard way.
