hullo,
what kind of software synthesizers do you use, and what's its use?
i've heard alot of good things about absynth, and it's been mentioned here a couple of times.
what would you recommend, and why?
here's a cat video for your time.
thank you.

absynth is very good for pads with its waveshapers and comb filtering, what I like most is the intuitive evelopes. Other NI stuff is refined aswell , especially Massive for bass patches (it's very CPU hungry though) and FM8 for leads and percussive synths,
u-he zebra2 is another great piece of software, a modular synth with awesome sound quality, it's definetly worth leaning how to program it. It was used by hans zimmer for batman soundtrack.
then there's of course a lot of free vsts for any purpose

I can't say enough good things about Fabfilter One. If you play it with a midi controller and set the velocity to affect the filter cutoff, it's like the damn thing's alive. It grunts and growls and screams. Dead easy to program too - it's one big sweet spot.

fm8 is similar to absynth also made by NI
As Khrimson said, Zebra is a really cool synth, you can do quite allot with it and it's compact and easy to use

I actually use only one synth that i haven't made myself, and that's the mda JX10, which is an absolutely lovely synth. I made several poly and mono synths that all have a certain purpose for me, there's an FM synth and a better FM drummachine than i had before, an old and ploppy beat style normal drummachine, several polysynths, a monosynth that i like to call 'The Fahtacon' and has very emulated 'analog' sound, and i currently made my own modular synth that literally are seperate modules as individual plugins that you can link together by audio in and output (only to be used in EnergyXT) and this is what it sounds like. I made it for EnergyXT because i can use it as a vst in another program. Next to that i use hardware synths as well.

Synth1 is literally the only thing I use these days.
I have Fahtacon and keep meaning to get down and dirty with it. I promise I will next week.

Are you rounding up XLT music-makers for an album of some sort ? I'd like to contribute.

Does that mean you want to try the Fahtacon? I'm sort of giving away some plugins here and there to see what people can do with it without me knowing this was even possible to do so.

I was thinking more along the lines of some album artwork. I'm trying to trim the fat from my life right now, and making music falls in that category. If the album is a decent comp, i wuld love to do some great artwork for it.

shit man this is almost like an sh-2 just with a bunch more modulation options. Very nice on cpu as well. Sounds great too. I made a very nice bass patch right off the bat and it is thick and nasty.
PROPS. I reckon I will send you something when I'm done if you'd like.
