You've been living on this earth for how many years? You do
know that natural disasters and earthquakes happen right?
It's not like the world is supposed to shine blue skies with
little cute clouds all day.

Aren't the waves only like 8 feet higher than normal at the
max anyways?

(minus 'and earthquakes')

8 feet is still much taller than us

That's why I said in my initial post that I don't think the
world is really ending. It just seems so.

Well, i'm more concerned with stuff that we CAN control
that's out of whack, oh you know like everything we do that
screws others over.

Nostradamus predicted that people would pay too much for
Hawaiian bottle opener souvenirs. People say that man could
see the future. They say he was magic.

The world really is coming to an end!

So many earthquakes + Eyjafjallajökull.

It's for certain, everything will end 2012! This is all just
the lead up to the end.

Sorry I was a naysayer...

Not really.

Anyone having to deal with the volcanic ash?

What does it look like from the ground in Europe?

if it really is going to end, i'm gonna sit back and enjoy
watching some utter cunts fruitlessly fight against it, with
a cool bottle of wine and a pipe of opium.

that is a great picture, but i feel for the icelanders.

Cliff you smoke opium? Why contribute to that circle of
death?

lizard to oblivion, tripping balls.

every decade there will continue to be more and more 'end of
the world ' theories. this has been the case for many years
now. typical of human neurosis

I agree it's mimetic, but you never really know when a new
theory comes about to just dismiss it or seriously consider
it, either way it doesn't really matter when the outcome is
death, well maybe it really matters then, if you subscribe
to an afterlife belief.

in the year 1000 people sold their houses and properties to
prepare for the end:

"Many Christians in Europe had predicted the end of the
world on this date. As the date approached, Christian armies
waged war against some of the Pagan countries in Northern
Europe. The motivation was to convert them all to
Christianity, by force if necessary, before Christ returned
in the year 1000. Meanwhile, some Christians had given their
possessions to the Church in anticipation of the end.
Fortunately, the level of education was so low that many
citizens were unaware of the year. They did not know enough
to be afraid. Otherwise, the panic might have been far worse
than it was. Unfortunately, when Jesus did not appear, the
church did not return the gifts. Serious criticism of the
Church followed. The Church reacted by exterminating some
heretics. Agitation settled down quickly, as it later did in
the year 2000
."
