I just have to add, that his new ep on m3rck records is
supposed to be totally dope. He also has like, 2 other full
lengths due out this year from other record labels. Can
anybody say prolific?

This track is totally different from the shit he did for his
last full length on m3rck. Its a lot more ambient, and a bit
more distorted. Kinda like Machine Drum does geogaddi.

Its not from his new album. Its on a weblabel, so its only
distrobution is going to be online.

NP. Machinedrum is dope

Machine Drum is definitely one of the best new artists
around.

Machine drum has earned his props, and then some.

On a side note, m3rck has some other dope shit lined up this
year.

This is just a little rant, and I won't mention anything
about it afterwards, but when someone mentions something
about cylob people will post 50+ messages, but when it comes
to great upcoming artists like Machine Drum, artists that
are doing really interesting things no one seems to give a
shit.

I think Machine drum rocks but you can't critisize people
for being not overwelmed when they don't know what you're
talking about taxi. There are plenty of bogus
recomendations on this site.

yeah...the lack of attention is only because not many people
are as familiar with machine drum as they are with cylob or
aphex ...

DLing

I must say, Lackluster's putting out some nice tunes too.
I'll check out that Proem stuff too. His 'Negativ' LP was
okay, but needed something else to make it really good.

My fuck, I am tired.

Good call on cylob,,hes really overrated i think, almost all
the messageboard member's music ive heard is much better
then cylob, and where is their props, and mine?

I know I know. I wasn't trying to be too harsh. Its just
kind of discouraging when the only way these artists really
get attention is thru word of mouth. I did try to make an
effort to subtly tell people that he is a somewhat
established artist and not just another crap mp3.com'er (no
disrespect intended to anyone in mp3.com, myself included).

Chris, I know what you mean about proem, but I thought there
might be a few people who might be interested in that as
well. Someone else to check out that has a forthcoming on
M3rch is Proswell.

There sure is a lot of music on mono, with many pretty known
faces. It'll take me forever to sift through the various
mp3s on offer there. Cheers for pointing it out, Taxi.

I can remember downloading Lackluster's 'One Offs' mp3EP,
and one of the tracks restarted halfway through. I wasn't
sure if it was meant to do this, so I might try and DL it
again off mono. The EP is really good, melodic stuff, with
some nice shuffly beats and lovely textures.

I wasn't too keen on that particular Machine Drum track,
personally, but I'll be sure to check out his other stuff.
Merck really does seem to be a great label, with some nice
releases (shame they aren't currently open to demos ;-) ). I
keep wondering whether I should get Ilkae's 'Pictachio
Island' or not. Probably shoud do.

Another release I'll be looking forward to will be Mr
Projectile's Music Aus Strom lp. Should be good.

Proem's minidisc release is meant to be good too, isn't it?
Damn, so much music, so little cash.

LOL... I know I know.

Pistachio island = Worthwhile.

The new machine drum stuff will be dope.

I don't know about the minidisc thing. Like I said, the only
reason I pointed out the proem stuff was in case there were
a couple people in here who might be interested.

I just got the new Rip Off Artist's full length. Its pretty
cool. Its got 12 songs split between 69 trax, so some songs
span over 10 trax. Its really wierd.

I am tired.

That Proem mp3EP is pretty good, but very much like Negativ.
He likes to use sample rate reduction plugins on everything!
Crispy. Love the beat in 'Access Mike'.

Weird - 12 songs spread over 69 tracks? Must be weird in
shuffle mode.

Okay, I've pulled this thread off topic. So about Machine
Drum...

Are you positive mr. projectile is going to be on musik aus
strom? hmm... crunch's 1 is possibly my favorite cd and it's
from that label. Aren't you on some label ochre? How's it
going with that, I doubt anybody makes much money. I suppose
playing live brings the most attention to yourself.

Check out the news over at Toytronic (the second 'square'),
where it says Mr P has signed up for a full length release
with MAS. I can't wait.

I'm not on a label, but I'm currently trying to finish an
album to hopefully be released on Surgery Records, but I
won't hold my breath as it's proving difficult at the moment
to write music and do well at uni... I hope something works
out with a possible compilation release with Toytronic too.

Yeah, I'm sure these guys make very little money from little
independent releases, but I'm sure just the thrill of a
proper release is cool enough.

Live shows are a way of promoting yourself locally, but it's
amazing how effective word of mouth is, especially in the
internet age. I would never have heard of Mr P without
access to the net. I suppose if you make good enough music
(Like Mr P) it'll promote itself to some extent, among those
who actively seek new music anyway. I see he's taken his
mp3.com page down (bar one track)...

I don't think I'd have even heard of autechre, aphex twin
etc. let alone any of the much more obscure artists on, say,
mp3.com without the internet... I wonder if his release will
be pretty much all his tracks that were on mp3.com (which
would be fine with me since I didn't get a chance to hear
them all)

I doubt he'll release many of his mp3.com songs (although
saying that, 'Masterin Tha Beast' was on his Topscore USA
release) as they are very old now. His style seems much
mellower now, so it'll be interesting to see whether this
continues with his MAS release or not. If you can, get hold
of 'Ecap Cavernaal' on mp3, as its a cool downtempo track (I
think it's a remix of Astronaut Wife's 'Cape Canaveral'.)
I've heard an mp3 of his Broker Dealer stuff too, which is
different... and not bad. His been putting techno stuff out
on mp3.com under the name Challenge Response, but last time
I listened I didn't think too much of it (pretty much
straight up techno).

You should have no problem getting his other mp3.com tracks
using something like Audiogalaxy, as he's pretty popular ;-)
