Senkz! Yah, and around these parts are pretty much the only people who would know what old school Mike P looks like, so... it's nice for people to recognize him. I quit my job at the end of November, and I was planning on selling drawings... but then due to unforeseen time travel, I'm now in January, having sold nothing but guitars, and I have to make like $1,500 in one week. So I gotta get a part-time job soon, as well as try to sell another guitar and my lovely Yamaha P-140 piano (which I don't play enough so prolly should go anyway)... to make up for not selling shit. Aaand I gotta sell old computers and other misc. electronics on craigslist and eBay. But the whole thing is pretty stressful, and I don't ever recommend quitting a shit-yet-stable job, to randomly sell drawings on the internet. I've done something similar before with these: Again, I almost died that time as well, but I did some freelance work, sold most of my hardware studio equipment, and was able to borrow money to hold me over until I found the job that I quit from in November. It also got me a bit of exposure and feature on the Juxtapoz website, but that doesn't change the almost dying part. If I get in a situation like this again, I will have to sell my long ass hair, but I really hope it doesn't get to that... Though I can probably get around $1,000 for it. Life is so retarded sometimes. |

Though selling my guitars, music gear, and other goodies, is actually quite refreshing. It's really apparent that people have too much shit, and I've gone too far with my purchases since I've moved to Honolulu, which is why I've been able to help support myself for months by selling my belongings. Oh, yah as for who buys Mike P art... it's really the only artistic visual record of his existence, besides photography. That is, unless there are actually tons of other µ-Ziq portraits... So people might not remember who he is in the future, but if I become well known, then his old image will live on. |
