i need you to test a little script which compiles some java and then runs it, nothing fancy. the java code is a placeholder. all you need to do is download this and unzip it so you have a folder containing: font.vlw core.jar Mother.java startMother i assure you these files are harmless, for what it's worth. now double click on "startMother" (it's a bash script executable. you can inspect it in a text editor if you like). if all goes well: startMother executes, Mother.java compiles, a new file Mother.class will be created and launched. Mother is a Processing sketch which is capable of cloning itself, which will happen if you follow the on-screen instructions. new files "Child0001.java" etc will be created. close the app to stop the process, feel free to delete all generated files and post your success story. if it doesn't work: startMother might not execute because of permissions/executable path, or something. please post what happened. |
