don't know. I have an iPhone and I love it. iTunes is ok
with it cus I don't use it as my main mp3 player.

.. meaning I don't usually dig iTunes much. such a hassle
when you constantly upgrade your mp3 collection, but don't
use iTunes as your standard mp3 player on the computer etc.

anyway. iTunes rocks with app store and all that jazz.

imo

i'd wait what's going to happen with the apparently upcoming
HTC/Google Nexus One before buying any phone now. According
to rumors is going to be released in January under mystery
Google business model (for free maybe? whoknowslol)

but small children will stop in the street and point and
laugh "look at that old man, he has two separate devices for
music and mobile telephony!"

really i mean just the latest one.. though there's small
variations, do you want a keyboard or not for instance etc.

yeah i'm probably going to get one too...
was hoping for a decent dev platform (i.e. non-restricted by
Apple), but meh. Apple *owns* mobile computing. so now it's
time to learn openFrameworks / objective c :D

I'm going to get a Nokia N900.
Unlike Android, it isn't a locked down Linux, but "proper"
linux :-D

The thing runs a slightly tweaked version of debian. It
supports proper multitasking and is being marketed as a mini
computer with inbuilt phone, rather than a smartphone!

I think this video shows the features really well
youtube and here is a more snazzy advert.

i have an N900
it's great, except for one major drawback - doesn't support
IMAP IDLE and thus you get no push email.

other than that, i'm happy with it

dunno, lots of people have phones w/o fancy stuff like
internet (myself included) but it's hard to deny that mobile
computing is kind of becoming ubiquitous in the next years,
and to say Apple is only dominating this market would be a
blatantly mal-informed understatement.
