...just my stream of consciousness...
I remeber when i discovered electronic music, one afternoon,
watching the uk single chart on mtv, at number 30 a new
entry, a duo called Lamb enter with gorecki(or Gold?!)...the
song is stunning...then the chemical brothers produce a
second smash song after setting sun called block rockin
beats...the porishead come out with the darkest+deepest
album ever released...roni size/reprazent win the mercury
prize with the excellent New forms after portishead and
goldie had won it...bjork shows her not secret passion to
the warp sound with homogenic working with mark bell, hoe
she wanted almost since the debut years...prodigy climb
every chart in the world with the fat of the land(tough it's
not their best work),daft punk provide a revolution in house
music with the superb homework, two years before the
basement jaxx...someone called aphex twin together with
someone called C.Cunningham makes the most controversial
song/video of the year...come to daddy...a lot of minor acts
such as alpha, smoke city...make their appearance with their
soft melodies...what a fantastic year

Was also the very year I discovered a whole new world of
music. I cast off the shackles of rock music that had
constrained me since the age of 9 and let repetitive beats
into my world.

Howie B was one of my earliest forays into the delights of
this much maligned genre. Turn the Dark Off is class.
innit?!
