im just a wondering newbie, but i have something to ask to
all of you elderly:
somebody once told me "abstract music is for abstract
people"...does anyone listen to other type of music other
than electronika?
even though the Richard D. James Album cured my
hyperactivity dissorder due to so much architectural work,
and SAW II is the most beautiful album ever, and even though
i got richard´s logo tattoed on my spine, i get
bored sometimes of so many bits...

am i mistaken or just sleepy?

Sounds like you are sleepy, little child. I listen to many
other types of music, such as classic rock, jazz, hard rock,
and even a little punk or flamenco music every now and then.

I notice people who discover Aphex or IDM in general usually
have climbed several steps up the musical chain in order to
get there. So by the time they've hit Aphex they have
already experienced a lot of genres. I have yet to meet an
Aphex fan who wasn't also a fan of something completely
opposite of Aphex. I don't think you can appreciate Aphex
Twin unless you have an open mind to begin with.

I like to listen to classical and jazz. Radiohead is the
only 'rock' I listen to...otherwise I can't stand rock. Im
all for jazz. And I love choral music :) I love an all
woman or all men choir.

I can't believe how right you are steve. That's so true. I
started in electronica when..in 1996 or 95. It took me a
long time listening to cheesy house on the radio (and a few
initial electronic cds) to get to the point where I am
today. I consider myself to have a decent knowledge of
electronica.

But hey its always fun trying to get an 'outsider' into Ae
or AFX right away no? lol ;)

I've always had an open mind. I love everything from Chris
Rea to Dire Straits.

Misfits.... hahaha I thought no one knew that band. I was
born in the town they live in and their kids went to my
highschool and I remember seeing the lead singer dressed all
normal when he had to come into school to get his kid.
