Hedphukkerr!
I respect your opinion – and dubstep as a genre. I've come over my resentment – because I did give it a go and found liking in it, even danced some. Thanks for your audio clip! However, I don't know if it contradicts my view of dubstep softness. Most proper Malmoe raves kick harder than that. (We're now into acid and hardcore.) I don't regard softness as bad quality, I'm just trying to elaborate on dubstep popularity. Most people grow soft, softer and softer. Dubstep is rave for post-ravers.

Dubstep's however you take it. Just 'cos it's slower than other forms of electronic music in tempo, does not necessarily mean that it has to have any less aggression or drive. Compare minimal house of Richie Hawtin to the dubstep of Vex'd and tell me who is "softer"...

i like when people like boxcutter put tracks like bloscid on their album. when people stick to that template like a formula is when it gets boring. like 2562 incorporating techno, well even almost house into his sound made a really nice blend and that is why he got so noticed. not that there won't be surges in purism, sure acid and electro, drum n bass has had their purest eras, both in their beginnings and in 'retro revivals', but the best stuff is always like aphex and pusher where it isn't just any one template but a masterful blend of styles.

the track 'mind games' off the new reso is a fantastic blend of dubstep bass and skittering drill n' bass style drum tracks. the outro sounds like it could be at home on any number of 'idm' records.

most dubstep is coming out in ep/single form, so most of these will be that:
reso - heavy arms ep eskmo - hypercolor ep untold - gonna work out fine ep heyoka - gate code (okay, so it's mostly dub crunk, future bass or whatever it's being called nowadays, but still plenty of 140 bpm grooviness)
defrag - lament element (again, on the outskirts of real dubstep, experimental soundscapes reminiscent of richard devine torn up with subbass)
and bonus best track ever: untold - stop what you're doing (james blake remix)

what does "dubstep is rave for post ravers"? mean
the vast majority of people buying dubstep records and going to dubstep nights have never been to a rave in their life

Those bass murphs don't really do dubstep sounds well. They are fantastic for ambient music tho.

I just found out they released vol7 of dubstep allstars, and am very happy as a result. vol6 kind of sucked, but more often than not that series is full of win.

i was trying to find a combination envelope/filter/wah that was designed for bass. it looked like one i would try/buy, since it was moog and had a lot of knobs & faders. maybe just something more straightforward then.
that digital delay, however, i can personally recommend since i've actually used it. you can get some cool pitch warble fx by tweaking the knobs as you go. i hooked it up to my rogue which sounded great, i just can't sequence it cause i don't have anything cv/gate.

I might suggest the regular moog filter tho. The murf is a sequenced filter that really only has presets for the filter arrays.
Well, the midi murf allows you to sequence it, but the only thing any of the murfs seem to do is make plinky sounds. It sounds great, but thats not the point.
