What are some of the records or artists you haven't seemed
to get around to listen to? I know for me, i have listened
to a lot of Frank Zappa, but there's so much i havent heard,
not to mention live/bootleg albums. Also I haven't heard a
lot of U.R. stuff, Juan Atkins, none of Derrick may or Kevin
Saunderson, not much DMX Krew, Kraftwerk. There's so much
music out there.

Mr Oizo
Flying Lotus
Ken Ishii
Super Collider

And many others, I'm sure.

I have them downloaded and have listened, but not properly.

kraftwerk and oizo are both so righteously worth properly
getting into.

for me i'd say fly lo, skinny puppy, eliot lipp, tv on the
radio, and the recent animal collective records are releases
which i've caught in passing but haven't given repeated
listens. also the new busdriver.

sometimes it seems like there's so much music out there i'll
never get round to listening to it all, and at others it
seems like there's no good music left to be discovered. i'm
happy to be proven wrong tho.

i know i should probably get into tom waits, since all the
kool people seem to dig him. for some reason i've never
dived into his universe and his discography scares me. dunno
where to start. halp?

Advocate when i don't know where to start with an artist i
head on over to allmusic.com and look for a 5- or 4.5-star
album... but most of the time i just download complete
discogs

some of his stuff is brilliant, but he's always just seemed
like a second rate captain beefheart.

thats really true though, vocally. i had me on some kandy
korn and trout mask replica the other day for the first time
in a loooooooooooong time. it's good stuff. i wish more of
it were instrumental though. ella guru is perfect though.

i agree, rad. you know, theres a box set that came out about
ten years ago that has the trout mask sessions on it. mainly
instrumental. and lick my decals off, baby is really good
too.

moody liz is a great instrumental off of mirror man. Also if
you want some good instrumental beefheart, have you heard
the bonus tracks from Safe As Milk, such as 'On Tomorrow'
and 'Big Black Baby Shoes', 'Flower Pot' and 'Dirty Blue
Gene'. I used to listen to that album all the time
