if everybody was aware there would be no war, no violence,
no conflict, no religion. the utter futility of it would be
completely evident. so no, unfortunately very few are aware,
and very few are interested in finding out either. despite
possessing this consciousness, humans are one of the most
stupid species in the animal kingdom.

Their outrageous stupidity is heightened by the fact that
they're incapable of discussing anything, they just grunt

if the meaning contained in anyones words is put there by
you, then how can you ever be made upset by someones words?
that's why i like UG's dog barking analogy. when a dog barks
at you, it's just making a noise - a dogs bark does not mean
"I am divorcing you, taking the children and the home." the
reaction to along with the meaning put in anything is
totally an after-thought to the fact. if we operated from
this standpoint there would be so much peace and luxury on
the planet for everyone

no one would be afraid of anything because they'd realize
the source of fear&afraid was from within.

if you call someone ignorant, it's like you're calling the
sun ignorant, or food ignorant. the individual can't be
separated from what sustains it, neither can the reaction be
separated from the action. they are one unitary movement (as
UG would say)

barcode,

You have before compared the thoughtless state to the state
animals are in. You say there would be no war for instance,
yet animals are violent by nature.
Furthermore, you have not yet defined what a thought is, or
how it functions.

I would propose that wherever there is choice, there is
thought, even in animals.
We say animals work on instinct, but does anyone really know
the deeper workings of instincts? What if they are a very
basic version of our thoughts?
Animals must make decisions all the time. And they are able
to be conscious and experience vision, pain etc, so it's
fair to deduce that they have choices.

The human we have today is just a very complex version of
this animal. The more we speak and learn, the more self
aware we become, and the more choices we make. The more
complex our world is, the more complex we become. The more
we broaden our horizons, but it's still in the end the same
mechanisms as a rat or a dog. This is not an illusion, it's
a side effect of evolution, and one that wasn't even our
choice. Nature made us this way.

What you're basically proposing is to strip away all the
complexities of the world until everything is very simple.
You are not proposing a simplification of the mind, but of
the world. Think about that.

And also, do you think dogs experience more true because
they don't have language?
They also have very basic levels of labeling, otherwise they
wouldn't survive. They can for instance associate wolves
with danger, and this applies a label to the wolf that makes
them not experience the wolf without thought, but rather the
brain filters a meaning.

@cx:

Animals have to be violent to survive, humans don't - they
have the choice to live a different way - as we do.

Animals may appear to have choice, but it's hardly the same
as human choice. They make instinctive, impulsive decisions,
not planned choices. Whether thought is a part of that
impulse is questionable and it's irrelevant anyway, as the
question is not whether thought is right or wrong, it's
about whether it is applied correctly, or simply completely
destructive.

Naturally, there's nothing wrong with thought in the sense
of using it to ask directions, or to build a camera or a car
etc., but in the intellectual/psychological field thought is
useless and cannot solve anything, because there's nothing
to solve. All the concepts that thought creates are entirely
illusory.

The world is really not complex. Eat, sleep, fuck. That's
all the animals do and that's all you need to do to as far
as nature is concerned; survive, reproduce, die. What is
complex about that and why does it have to be more complex
than that? Instead thought has created self-awareness, which
brings about boredom, which is then filled with all sorts of
illogical, meaningless nonsense, ideas, philosophies,
cultures, etc., none of which is grounded in truth, yet
causes immense suffering, fear, and death - divorcing us
completely from our natural state.
