Is this a Lost/Heroes style show in which it's at a constant
cliffhanger, with mystery appearing for absolutely no reason
other than to give you a reason to watch next week?

offline pantalaimon from Winterfell (United Kingdom) on 2009-09-30 06:30 [#02331678]

yeah i already made a thread about it,

Phresch , lost isn't a waste and isn't never ending, the
next season is the last, the last couple of seasons have
been really good imo.

Flashforward had a decent start... a little too much crammed
in and not enough time spend on the aftermath of the
blackout but all things considered it looks really
promising.

I watched.

Thought it felt rushed. Characters didnt seem likable,
couldn't give a shit if they all perish. Bad acting.

Guy who didnt have vision, er, maybe you were asleep? or
knocked out?

It might get better i guess

Never judge a show by its pilot. With these kind of things,
you always need 5 episodes or more. Just look at The Wire.

i thought it was rushed too, could have done with 2 hours...
it has an interesting enough premise to keep me watching
though, I am hoping things will slow down from the next
episode. Characters are always like that at first when you
don't know them.

offline Grahf from Manchester (United Kingdom) on 2009-10-01 06:00 [#02332189]
Points: 388 Status: Regular

i guess that's true.

except these kind of shows are a little more flashy less
substance than the wire was.

i expected the flash to be better, longer and more bloody
than it was.

second episode not so good... although the mouth to mouth
thing was funny, hope the characters stop resembling
cardboard soon.

Lost... is the boy. Even if it jumped the shark with all the
new elements of the mythology introduced at inopportune
times, it still - until Abrahms makes that Dark Tower movie
series - stands as the best example of a novelistic approach
applied to a visual medium. Well, if not, the best more more
more tv series since the promise of Twin Peaks' first
series. I watched the first episode of this
motherpussbucket, enjoyed it, will be catching up Sunday...
but it strikes me as a wannabe. Despite this I denied myself
the pleasure of finding out the full story via Wikipedia,
the book from my limited peak seems to be different and the
series is losely based so Ill give it what, 10 episodes?
Fuckin hell I still watch Heroes and that's on it's fourth
series and it's complete wank!

in a behind the scenes featurette, the writers said "we're
huge lost fans" about 70 times in a 3 minute span.

5 episodes in and its a mixed bag, i love the premise and
the story is going the right way but there is something
about the acting, writing of dialogue and direction of
scenes that really feels a little odd. I never felt this way
about Lost, Flashforward is one of the most stiff and
awkward programmes i've watched... but the story is
compelling, go figure.

the Final season.

It's shite. There's always a cliffhanger at the end of each
episode designed to keep you watching, but the main body of
each episode is usually some total bollocks about the
characters 'feelings' acted out by lame arse dildos who
can't act and nothing ever resolves the previous cliff
hanger.

I just wish I wasn't hooked. I can't wait for the next
episode.

I must be some sort of cunt.

The exact reason why I stopped watching Lost, an unnecessary
and infinite cliffhanger cycle. It's like in horror movies
when a single chord is sustained for suspense as the woman
turns the handle on the door, except programmes of this
style have a sustained discordant whine as a severed hand
opens a box of nails for no reason whatsoever.

season 5. Anyway i'm no reference as i'll watch any crap.

But I don't want to have to watch an intensely complex drama
set in the mindscape of the single man who crafted it only
to have to be told in the dénouement that it was some sort
of dream/military experiment/reality show/theme park.
