Noam Chomsky is an Idiot

People like Chomsky believe conspiracy theories because it
helps them to make sense of the world and certain events
that are normally beyond their grasp or sense of reason.
Their fictional evil world is more comforting than the real
evil we live in. He also likes to quote all these obscure
magazines, interviews and papers. This is how you simulate
science or the scientific method. There is no hole in his
theory, he just can't stand that many things are just
coincidence.

He is an idiot

I think that as a critical thinker this often means he has
to play devils advocate.I'm not saying I agree with
everything he says, just that sometimes he opens the floor
for debate where previously it may have been closed.

"I see no anti-Semitic implications in denial of the
existence of gas chambers or even denial of the Holocaust"
Noam Chomsky.

replace chomsky with alex jones and your post might make
sense. chomsky doesn't espouse conspiracy theories - in fact
he distances himself from them on every opportunity. And the
comfort rational of conspiracy theorists is as old as the
hills- can't you troll better?

Like I said,I dont agree with everything he says, and I
certainly do not agree with that statement. However I am
interested as to the origin and context of that particular
quote,as it reads to me like a line from a holocaust
revisionist manifesto.

He ain't a conspiracy theorist, but he is a conspirationist.

His Impact on formulation of mass apealing ideologies and
conspiracy theories is largely underestimated. Chomsky's
appeal is directed to people susceptibility to conspiracy
theories

I cant argue that quote seems like an anti-semetic
statement.Although Chomsky is Jewish,that particular
comment/quote seems to be something a little more spiteful
than thoughtless rhetoric. However, this whole subject seems
to be never ending, with Chomsky,as always, trying to debate
the undebatable.I stand by my original comment,I believe
Chomsky to be an important figure in our culture and a
particularly brilliant mind. He's far from being an idiot
really isnt he?

Its called structural anti-semitism. Despite Chomsky being
jewish, of course he can be an anti-semite as well.

I know about about structural anti-semitism from Nicholas
Donin through to the Bolsheviks using the Jewish Bund. But as
Im not Jewish I can hardly argue the case for or against
Chomskys statement which appears to me to be an unfathomable
attitude towards the Jewry and the holocaust..I feel that
it's like me telling a black guy not to use the N word.
Or am I looking at this far too simplistically?

Well Nigger is still a degenaratory term even when it is
used by blacks. Even if it is used in a 'friendly' manner
between black people it still has a racist connotation

Chomsky is not a conspiratist. He bases all his saying on
historical facts. Some of his fans on the other hand, can be
pure twats.

Never found the occasion (as i think i ramble a bit too much
about bloody cigars). But wanted to mention the other day i
went to see a lady from cuba do a demonstration. She rolled
many and gave me one. I was like a child.

And it's growing! It's such a comfort, a pleasure to pass
time with a cigar. The smoke, the relaxed body, the nice
thoughts wandering.

Alert! Alert! Chas and Dave have split. I should have a Big
Train link for you but can't seem to find it on youtube and
such.

I remember my Dad taking us all to a pub down the old kent
road after some carnival somewhere. We sat on the wall with
one bottle of pepsi and five straws, and from the inside of
the snug wafted the smell of stout and the dulcet tones of
old ladies singing 'my dear old dutch'.
Is it any wonder Ive avoided music for years?

You're an idiot.

He's not Jewish either, It says on Wikipedia that his
parents were Jewish, but people are not born religiously
devout. Meaning even though people are born into jewish
families does not dictate that the child will follow that
religion, and if you think otherwise you're purist and
probably a racist too.

He's stated in an interview that "I am a child of the
Enlightenment. I think irrational belief is a dangerous
phenomenon, and I try to consciously avoid irrational
belief. "

given the fact that intellectuals of the past (like Marx)
have prescribed to anti-semitic conclusions due to lack of
knowledge on the subject, it's horrible to see that
anti-semitism is still around.
