"Seeing as a therapist has the same access to information
as
you do - in a free world - what can they possibly tell you
about yourself that you cannot figure out for yourself?

After all, if you're too dumb to figure out your own
problems you're going to be too dumb to figure out what a
therapist is telling you."

I'm not sure you fully understand (though i respect your
opinion). And yes, some people need a little help. Nothing
wrong with that. I'm no fan of Freud but i do feel i benefit
from seeing a shrink lately. I took a while. First you need
to admit you need help. It doesn't mean you're 'dumb'. Some
people like to moan all the time and underline how depressed
they are. I prefer to leave that for my psychiatrist.

On another note... Are you edocrab?

Fuck. What i meant was that you're not told what to do. The
shrink has little or no power. I'm the boss, not her. It's
not like i go there for advice. I couldn't go to an oldskool
shrink who barely talks though.

barcode there is a difference between a therapist and a
counselor, i think you have confused the two

a counselor will tell you shit you may already know, but a
therapist uses specially designed techniques to help people
in ways they can't achieve by themselves, these patients
sometimes have sever mental conditions. a therapist can also
prescribe medication

My brother has schizophrenia and he had to see a therapist

Most of the people on here probably are seeing councilors, i
doubt they have therapists because they all seem very
balanced and well to me, but maybe i'm wrong

Exactly.
