what should i get

i have narrowed my search down to 3 pairs of headphones

sennheiser hd280: these are apparently very good but i am
afraid they would look stupid and stick out on my head. i
would like to see how they look on someone wearing them.

sony mdr 7506: these are what i was leaning to, a lot of
people use them and have sworn by them in reviews, they seem
really good, but apparently the earpads are really weak and
break easily and the material rubs off.. i dont want to feed
sony a shiteload of money buying new earpads every year..

shure srh440: these also seem very good but i dont know if i
like the look of them. again i would like to see how they
look on a persons head.

all 3 of these go for 99 dollars, they all have 10 meter
phone cord dealies, and they all apparently have good sound
quality..

which should i get?

sennheiser hd280 --

sennheiser tend to use custom jacks on their cables which
tend to break after a year or so, a replacement cable will
cost you about £16

sony mdr 7506 (im wearing a pair now) goes well with black.
you know, dark clothing. its important.

also, the earpads can be replaced with much nicer ones.

what do you need them for? because if its for djing, i would
recommend you the hd25's, they have a much more marked bass
feel, that you actually will be able to hear in cue without
cranking it to the max.

I have a pair of sennheisers, and they are fantastic,
although I haven't tried the hd280's so I can't vouch there
specifically. With audio gear, you get what you pay for
usually, however sennheiser tend to be a fairly safe bet for
value in each price range.

cos mine didn't break in almost four years of heavy use. i
walked upon them a couple of times too, w/o mentioning the
countless falls to the ground. i don't know what that guy
did with them but my room looks way more messy. the material
rubbed away from the right earpad but i never used the
provided bag, which is in fact new like the first day.

*given for granted that the material doesn't rub away while
you wear the heaphones, only when you carry them around

What about these?

They look cool, are in the price range you are looking at
and are AKG, so undeniably high quality goods.

at the beginning it was sucky to me because my ears had to
'tune' to the way it sounds. it takes some time to do so

Those Sonys are lame. The only truly good headphones you
listed were the Sennheisers. Get those.
