Sorry, cos I think I have already asked this a while back, but does anyone know the answer/ use Vista with 4.1 speakers? Cos I want to get an external X-Fi sound card to use with my laptop, so I can finally start using my Creative 4.1 speakers again. Thanks |

Hm, I kinda want to avoid that is possible, though. Y'see, my laptop came with Vista installed on it already. I don't think I even have a disc with it. And my uncle said that if this is the case it may be designed only to have Vista as OS. Or does that not make sense? I dunno much about computers, so I ain;t sure.... :/ |

check the model number of your laptop, search for windows xp drivers. if they exist, then you can install xp. if not, stick with vista. |

Vista does not support true 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound and is not compatible with other media apps like Adobe. I got rid of my Vista system and got a Mac which is supported better my most software apps and it makes for a very robust media system. |
