Sorry, cos I think I have already asked this a while back,
but does anyone know the answer/ use Vista with 4.1
speakers? Cos I want to get an external X-Fi sound card to
use with my laptop, so I can finally start using my Creative
4.1 speakers again.

Thanks

Soz, it was 5.1, not 4.1.

if its not you can always torrent and install XP, which is
compatible with most everything.

Hm, I kinda want to avoid that is possible, though. Y'see,
my laptop came with Vista installed on it already. I don't
think I even have a disc with it. And my uncle said that if
this is the case it may be designed only to have Vista as
OS. Or does that not make sense? I dunno much about
computers, so I ain;t sure.... :/

Not very likely. What kind of computer do you have?

check the model number of your laptop, search for windows xp
drivers. if they exist, then you can install xp. if not,
stick with vista.

But is Vista compatible with 5.1 sound? cos if not, it might
be worth installing XP.....

Vista does not support true 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound and is
not compatible with other media apps like Adobe.

I got rid of my Vista system and got a Mac which is
supported better my most software apps and it makes for a
very robust media system.
