Wondering Again

So, is it smarter to feel like shit all the time so that
others' arrogant happiness can be seen for the joke that it
is?
By joke i mean that they think their passive aggressive
laughing is actually something funny, in reality it's
pathetic.

I mean has anyone actually thought about how much their
'laugh' costs others? While a person has the time to laugh
in this world, rabbits are being executed alive, people are
being made fun of, killed. So much destruction and there's a
need for laughter?

I've had a tough time lately feeling like i can coexist with
people. I just don't want to be here anymore unless i can
help others in a realistic way.

I just don't know how to help.

Wanting to help is a very good thing, but I don't see what
that has to do with laughing. Genuine laughter is one of the
few good forces this universe has going for it. That being
said, fake laughs and people that laugh when they are
uncomfortable are horrible. Is that what you're getting at?

yeah, for some reason besides from kids, those are the only
laughs i have been hearing lately. maybe selectively.

Les imbeciles heureux. ;)

Laughing is good for your body and mind and can act as a
rather fitting shield.

yeah real laughter is a great thing. i guess just dimsiss
that part of that post. Let's focus more on how people can
help others realistically in this world. I don't think by
sending a letter to the people who are fucking with rabbits
is going to stop, and you can really only do something
yourself, so what is the best way to help in today's world?

I think the first and most important bit is to not feel like
you're a useless piece of shit. If we all think everything
is worthless and feel helpless then no one is gonna go
anywhere.

IMO, the best thing is try to be a god person yourself, and
don't actively try to change others. If you're a nice
person, you'll be successful at changing the world for the
better in your own small way, then others follow your
example and eventually the world becomes better and better.
That's the theory, anyway. I think it's a good theory.

And don't feel uselss, man. Even seeing things as they
really are and having the intention to make the world better
is highly admirable *hugs*.

I talked to my shrink and other people many times about
this, and the answer I get is "you can't take all the misery
of the world on your shoulders, just distance yourself from
it and live your own life."
And they seemed quite happy, nobody is expecting me to give
a second thought to any of the misery in the world.
And not even the universe is expecting me to. I can be as
selfish as I want with no penalty from any universal forces.
We are completely free to disregard everyone else.

I guess if you really wanted to help, you could join
organizations that do work in the areas you are interested
in. Be active for the causes you care most about.
And as tractern said, the best way to change the world isn't
to be isolated, it's to be social and active and talking to
others.
You talk to them and give your own thoughts on things and
maybe they will give it a thought too, and maybe then you
will change the world in your own way. Be supportive of
people close to you who you can help directly.
By not being social you are actually not living your full
potential. Maybe someone could have felt better if you were
there for them.

But in the end, you have your own life, and it is true that
you can't take all the misery of the world on your
shoulders. You need to take a break and think about yourself
too. When you are sad the world is just a little bit sadder
too.
