I saw it last night and I really loved it, it was funny and
disturbing, and beautiful and disgusting all at once.

this?

depends on your definition of blah.

offline AMPI MAX from United Kingdom on 2009-08-24 13:48 [#02318099]

blah = bland characters, poorly developed plot, rubbish
clothes/style, uninteresting music (most of which did not
fit in at all), eli roth.

i dunt know whot to convert you.

can i just say; in pulp fiction look at the scene with butch
and his gf thats into bluberry pancakes and how much
character is in that relationship. you get to know butch and
the bit where you think hes going to hit her (cos of the
watch) is pretty tense because you like both characters and
dont want to see them become ugly/hurt blah blah blah.

compare this to inglorious with french cinema girl +
faceless black boyfriend. no style, no character, cut to
killbill music.

many examples like this. many.
its eli roths fault

yeah i think it's a weaker movie. but it still rocked. It's
got Quentin's seal on it for sure. I mean i never thought he
was going to make a Nazi movie, some people think it's
because he wants to be a part of the whole, "hey look i like
jews and i can make them look cool by making a good movie
about em," act.
But still, besides Eli Roth's stupid ass, and others, i
think the movie was just a long and good dual story. One
story about the american-nazi-killing team and the girl who
was getting her revenge.

i just don't like Tarantino.

i think he's massively overrated, makes boring films where
very little happens, doesn't have anything unique about his
shots or visual style, and not to mention that he's so far
up his own arse that he can taste his own alcohol drenched
liver.

i'm more of a David Lynch viewer.

you're being a cunt, just as much as i'm being a cunt
(which is either not at all, or very much...depending on
your outlook)

you like Tarantino, while i like Lynch.

you make love the regular way, while i prefer to practice
Neo-Tantric-Paganistic-Classico love making.

we're all individual snow flakes

my favs are

Stanley Kubrick, The Coen Brothers, David Lynch, Michael
Curtiz, Don Siegel, George Romero :) Alfred Hitchcock,
Alejandro Jodorowsky, Luis Bunuel, Terry Gilliam, David
Cronenberg, Ingmar Bergman .... off the top of the head

notice how many of them are surrealists?

The golden ages of both film and surrealist art happened
during the same time period.

I saw this tonight, it's not a masterpiece but it's decent
and definetly an improvement since grindhouse. The opening
scene is killer, from the start you could see the great
photography. Trough the movie, there's a lot of red tones,
nazi flags and blood everywhere. Music score is not
prominent as in other works of tarantino, there's a western
music pairing at the start that feels a bit weird imho, then
forget the score, it's all gun shootings.

I agree the character development is quite poor, I read this
was planned as a serial, and tarantino said he could do some
sequel, well, there's not much more to see based on how this
ended.

It's a good no-brainer entertaining movie in my opinion.

I liked it--- lot of payoff towards the end of the film.
Great acting across the board as well.

Pulp Fiction is still his best though.

oscillik: it's possible to like both Lynch and Tarantino ;p
I prefer Lynch as well, but Tarantino is just as much of an
auteur that divides audiences and encourages discussion.
They're both class acts in my book.
