i've made a compilation of songs for my 16 year old sister
to try and introduce her to electronic music.

all i need - air
i against i - mos def and massive attack
alberto balsalm - aphex twin
hyperballad - bjork
bascadet - autechre
U.F.O.'s Over Leytonstone - squarepusher
confusion (pump pannel reconstruction mix) - new order
lifeforms - FSOL
sixtyten - BoC
wandering star - portishead
hisen - susumu yokota

what would your compilation be for introducing someone to
the genre?

she prob wont like the comp, she's into westlife and
nickleback shit but its worth a try.

i would definately put arch carrier by autechre on there. i
always fancy it could be a hit. especially since knightrider
is still pretty popular.

I made one for a mate once. He listened to it and straight
away brought a ticket for the NME gig, now hes hooked.

That compi sounds good but i'd go for kelly watch the stars
instead of all i need.

It's a nice compilation.
What's about other easy songs as Flim, Cuckoo, 4, etc...
probably your sister would like them.

i prefer kelly watch the stars but as an introduction i
though all i need was an almost mainstream song

I would start with a soft electronic compilation
1 aphex twin-fingerbib
2 plaid-ralome
3 bjork-venus as a boy
4 daft punk-da funk
5 chemical brothers-sunshine underground
6 autechre-melve
7 zero 7-I have seen
8 nitin sawhney-letting go
9 broadcast-come on let's go
10 boards of canada-the colour of the fire
11 beck-new pollution
12 solex-solex's snag
13 nightmares on wax-morse
14 Leila-to tell a lie
15 david homes-my mate paul
16 primal scream-burning wheel
17 death in vegas-dirge

18 squarepusher-goodnight jade
19 portishead-western eyes
20 leftfield-melt
I always use 20 songs...anyway I tell you for
experience, there's no way to induce someone to listen to
electronic,i think it may be only his/her will...
