It depends on whether you think you might want to reread the
books in the future. I generally don't loan books to anyone
but my closest friends, and have never given a book away
although I see it as a nice thing to do.

I occasionally give books away if, like Zephyr says, I'm
unlikely to reread them. I'll lend books to most friends. I
keep most of them.

Every five years or so my dad has a clear out and gives a
bunch of books to charity. He buys three or four a week on
average.

I like to keep the read ones on one end of the shelf, so
they look like trophies i've conquered.

You can also lend it to people..but they almost never give
it back so be warned.

have a pile of books to read. keep decent books i might want
to reread or lend to mates. or just feel satisfied for
having read. give crappy books (dan brown etc) to my mum she
either puts them on a bookcase somewhere, or if theyre
really poop takes them to the charity shop.

I stopped reading paper books a long time ago.

Start over. I quit reading years ago but started again a
year back and now i can't do without it. It's fun, makes you
smarter and keeps you of the internet. But I don't read
normal literature. I read stuff that is in my interest. Just
to keep me motivated to read.

I read books all the time, just not books made of
paper.

I have a large book shelf, if someone wanted to read
something they can take it, and if they want to keep it then
fine just as long as I have read it.
