i run the server yes. looks like i had some trouble when 8-10 people tuned in (my upload is around 500 kbit/s), but then i also had the setting to stream out 128 which makes for better sound. i dont know how you use someone elses server, but im sure there's a way to it. |

Hey Phresch, how do you set up the Internet server correctly? My local server works fine, but the Internet LAN address doesn't seem to want to work. I know nothing at this networking stuff. |

have you done the server checker test in nicecast? if it failed, you might have to forward a port. Once you find your router/modem , just follow the instructions for shoutcast (same procedure), and set the port to '8000' in your router page + your internal ip address(i just type http://10.0.0.1/ in firefox to get to my router page). jesus fucking christ that was a messy explanation. |

i did the server check, it siad could not connect, etc. I'm not directly connected to a router from an ethernet cable or anything, i'm using my macbook's Airport wireless. Does that mean that i have to adjust the settings on the host ccomputer that has the router setup? |

like the thing is, how do i know i need to forward a port? I'm using the built-in server btw Because i'm getting my wireless connection from Airport, which is getting the internet's connection from a wireless router that's connected to my moms computer. How can i setup a port for Nicecast on her computer's router settings? When the program isn't installed on her computer, and wouldn't be running from her computer. Is it not possible to use nicecast from Airport? |

"barely able to stay concious and even harder to sleep." it's a special thing, i have the same thing going for me right now. yeah, party zone was THE music station back then, for me anyway, as a kid. i can remember trippy (shitty?) XMIX vids, orbital, the one and only dominator, fucking garage doors opening&closing in sync with the music, + last but not least simone angel in tight outfit chatting with prodge when they were good. happy times! |
