New collaboration album with a bunch of post-rock / electronic / idm / experimental heavyweights! The group is called Risil, and the first release is called "Non Meters Vol. 1" It's a really great record - probably the best thing to have Gill Heron's name stamped on it since his 2003 release. And if you like crazy, poly-rhythmic drums, Zach Hill's drumming never lets down. It's a really dynamic, beautiful piece - never gets old, never gets boring. Lots of cool vocals and really great production. Has anyone else heard it? I got this off of What.CD - if you're on What.CD, search for: "Non Meters" in the torrent search section. Oh yeah, it's got some guy from Tortoise in it, too. |
