in the UK if you pre-order Win7 Pro just now it's much less
than half price

Maybe its just a genuine advantage filled scam like vista
and will be replaced with windows 8 in a few months.

lol, doing windows update recently made some sort of
microsoft plugin appear in firefox's plugin list. Had to
google how to remove it. Every update is 99% windows
spyware.

i've been running Windows 7 on my desktop and EeePC for a
month now - i'm quite pleased with it. and i hated Vista.

the only reason i'm having to use XP on a separate drive is
because M-Audio refuse to make 64bit Windows 7 drivers for
my Oxygen8.

other than that, i've been using Windows 7 exclusively.

a lot of that stuff is irrelevant in the final version. the
little things like jump lists taking a while, jaggies on
window stuff.

the taskbar issue of having to ctrl-click to flip between
the windows is still there.

*shrugs* it's not that big of a deal for me

get microsoft security essentials (anti virus/malware) it's
free, and it's the best thing ms has done in a long time.

lightweight, doesn't nag you, and best of all- doesnt chew
resources

win7 + mse = content
