When headphones are plugged directly into the laptop, and
the laptop speakers keep piping out the sound im playing, it
means that the drivers are fucked?

What i hear when plugged in are 'the echo's ' of the music,
but the rest is played from the laptop speakers. When i put
the soundcard panning to the right, it comes out of the
headphones but kind of crappy and not really pleasant to
listen to.

Your suggestions?

And yes, i already removed and installed and updated the
soundcard driver.

This happened to me and I was smoking pissed. First 15 days
of owning a toshiba. To late to bring it back to the store
so I had to endure all this warranty garbage, I really hope
you do not have to as well. 3 weeks without a brand new
laptop is disappointing.

Honestly I forget how I solved the issue, I'm pretty sure it
had to with sending it back to the company. I remember in
the meantime buying an external sound card and turning off
the on board in the device menu.

I think it had something to do with the bios ...

Eventually the speakers started making a really hi pitched
sound.

Something to do with the bios or some power issue, it's all
foggy to me. Either or, I wasn't able to fix it myself.

I ignored the problem for a while cause the store was like
"We are gonna send it away for 3+ weeks". So I held off for
a bit, buying that external sound card, eventually sending
it away when I wasn't dependent on a computer .

well, the thing is that the mic input still works, so i just
keep thinking the driver doesn't work well anymore with the
hardware for some reason, it just happened like snap.
Luckily i have a soundinterface, but i dont bring that
around with me when i goto my parents :( Gonna check the
bios though

like all roomy reverb of a track is filtered out and sent
through the headphones..

basically, when i plug in the phones, the sound still comes
through the laptop speakers as well
