recently chipped my wii with a solderless mod chip, so far
downloaded about 10 games for it, works a treat

goin to do the same with my xbox except you need to flash
the dvd-drive, purchased a guide on how to do it,

anyone else done the same?

Hmmm careful doing that, if microsoft relay the cpu details
back to the mothership you might get flagged and banned from
live

No, my house mate sorted mine. I was tempted but some drives
require very specific motherboard bits to connect to.

yeah, my housemate chipped our wii and did the xbox thing
too. it's quite tricky, took him a while to figure out, and
he had to get a sata card or something. I don't think
microsoft can detect the firmware, they just notice if
you're playing games that aren't out in your area, or maybe
certain leaked copies have identifiers too - still, I'm
lucky enough to have a non-chipped one for live play, so I
use that.
