Haha, had to check out Altered Beast.

Man, that thing's violent.

First he kicks of the enemies head, and then he punches the
body into pieces.

"Kick, punch, it's all in your mind!"

I'm not like the others.

I know many styles...

so i downloaded Genesis Plus from this guy's site, 'Richard
Bannister'

LAZY_TITLE

some juicy stuff there if you're on a mac, master system
emu, a memory game, retrogame music players.. nothing 'big'
but small stuff that does the job and smoothly, too. some
ROMs dont have the emulation of the original music but some
other are the exact replicas of the originals. so far the
best ROM i found is Chakan's one at romnation.net, really
fantastic. Emulation Enahncer can be patched using proprer
cure.

nuff games.

I've been using a REALLY good emulator for PC lately called
FUSION. It is VERY smooth. Check it out.

Perfect timing with this thread. I've been playing the
unholy hell out of roms lately, started with NES, then went
to SNES, then to Genesis, and then oddly enough to Sega Cd
roms, thanks to Fusion's ability to play them.
Unfortunately, only about half of the sega cd roms I want to
play work, but it was definitely nice getting to try out
some games I always wanted as a kid but never had.

I play mostly platformers and side scrolling/top-scrolling
shooters, with the odd rpg or puzzle game thrown in. Fucking
love the 16-bit consoles, it's nearly impossible for me to
pick a favorite. console from those days.

I'd like to second oxy's recommendation for Fusion, it plays
genesis, master system, 32x, and sega cd roms (you'll need
bios files for master system and sega cd roms), it's
compatible with xbox 360 PC controllers, and allows use of
gamegenie cheats. Best emulator I've ever used!

it appears it can also play gamegear roms, but I wouldn't
know for certain since I don't have any.

you should try an Atari2600 emulator too, not for heavy
gaming to be honest cos it can become quite boring after a
bit (except for masterpieces like Montezuma's Revenge or
Impossible Mission and a few others), but for the craziness
of the colors/sounds/concept of the games. i literally stare
at the screen with a ? kind of face, i love it
