Autechre Vs. Aphex Twin

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:06 [#00010180]

GUYS, Autechre and Aphex Twin are like the same thing! THEIR
MUSIC IS EXACTLY SIMULAR! AUTECHRE, YOU GUY(S) ARE
POSER(S)!

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-18 18:12 [#00010187]

i can't really say anything on the subject because i haven't
heard enough Autechre. I just have "Confield." But to be
honest, Aphex has really never stuck to one specific style.
He's one of those artists who just can't really be
categorized into one specific genre. But please remember,
just because someone is influenced by someone else and their
music somewhat reflects theirs doesn't mean they're a ripoff
or a poser. Plus, i think Autechre has been around for quite
a while now.

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:13 [#00010188]

like AFX......maybe Richard is AFX and Autechre!!! :)

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-18 18:13 [#00010189]

once again, if anyone feels free to slap me for my
uneducated comments on Autechre, please do so. I haven't
heard nearly enough of them yet to give my opinion. :)

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-18 18:15 [#00010190]

i doubt it, justin. but that'd definitely be a major fucking
shock to me. Then again, all of RDJ's aliases have a
different sound. (although AFX HAB EP's sorta have an RDJ
album ring to them) But usually you can tell the difference
between an AFX song and an Aphex Twin song. Either way, he's
probably not Autechre, but i get the humour you are
implying.

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:19 [#00010192]

yeah, that would be fucking scary

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:19 [#00010194]

the same genre, not the same style

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:27 [#00010205]

okay ,whatever and korn sound like fear factory. what ever
you say poe....

po{e} from the uk on 2001-06-18 18:29 [#00010208]

they do, glad we agree...so which is the one that wears
masks and eat shit...or the chubby guys who prance about,,or
the ones that have no money...all bollox american crap,
their pop goth rock that some record label put out, all for
the money

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:32 [#00010213]

what are you talking about? theyre not GOTH!

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-18 18:37 [#00010217]

i think you're speaking of Slipknot, poe. And yes, they
somewhat sound lie KoRn, but that's probably due to the fact
that Ross Robinson, who's produced a bunch of other
rap-metal, produced their album.
No offense, Justin, but when a band releases FIVE different
versions of their album i knid of get the idea that they
want money. .........Sorry! :)

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2001-06-18 18:38 [#00010218]

who the fuck said i like Slipknot! And yeah i agree, Korn
shouldnt have done that 60 cover art album releases for
their AWESOME album ISSUES....

autechre and aphex twin sound nothing alike. you have not
listened to either enough to know that. only the equation
song off of windowlicker resembles something autechre would
put out.

Japes from London on 2001-06-18 22:12 [#00010260]

Autechre are completely different, and they are two people.
They've been photographed together, and they've been
interviewed and play their music live. Therefore we can
deduce that they are not in fact Aphex.

Also, Autechre don't use drum samples, they use noises.

map from CH on 2001-06-18 22:14 [#00010262]

They use over 20 plug ins for this rhytmes....they take a
beat....fill in a plug in, "eat" this rhythm again and again
in a other plug in wiht bizarre properties......some noise
and frequencies......again and again ...till you never know
what it is.....that's autechre..

Ross from can. on 2001-06-18 22:56 [#00010267]

Autechre are nothing like aphex, maybe if you only heard
second bad vibel, but still..

Aron? from Canada on 2001-06-18 23:26 [#00010279]

Autechre and Richard are TOTALLY different!!!!

Justin, GO HOME!!!

man oh man...

hevquip from a foxes wooden leg on 2001-06-18 23:54 [#00010285]

vletrmx21 sounds like something off of select ambient works
II in my opinion. so they each have one song each that
sounds like the others. i think it's a ridiculous idea too
that someone could or would think that autechre and aphex
twin are one person.
