there is no such thing as a planet called "Mu" so how could
they possibly package it up into a torrent

Regarding acid 2.0, Cylob once said acid is the sound that
refuses to die. He often feels sick of the bubbly quirkiness
and all its historical speedy fuck-ups, but then he suddenly
falls into trance along it and releases Alpine Acid.

anyone please upload the globalgoonian acidic efforts, that
would be helpful in deciding.

Global Goon previously of Rephlex has finally admitted
that he is actually respnsible for the Syntheme project
rather than the previously claimed Louise Wood. When you
hear the depth of the 303 acid involved in the music it all
makes sense.

Source? Should I believe a rocking Tyra Banks? (She's by the
way no way a new Oprah.) Why shouldn't Louise Wood be
capable of "deep 303 acid"? Must all quality acid be
processed through Rephlex?

Same masterer (Matt Colton)

Richard James has finally admitted that he is actually
responsible for the Syntheme project rather than the
previously claimed Louise Wood (Daughter of erstwhile
Rephlex bod Johnathan ‘Woody’ Taylor). When you hear the
depth of the 303 acid involved in the music it all makes

I think the fact they use the same person to master their
releases is the most compelling evidence.

Richard D. James = Aphex Twin = Jonny Hawke = Global Goon =
Syntheme = Lousie Wood

most people (i make no difference here) expect artists to
deliver a certain style. i like having a listen to new music
without any bias, so i dig it when known people make some
sort of spin-off under an alias now and then. i long for new
artists and look around aswell...
and id rather be delighted by a nice output of a newcomer,
than be disappointed by releases of my faves.

Diamondtron of course raises an important question. Let's
let music be music. One of techno's historical and in my
opinion most important insignias is the undercover,
anonymous, dark and essentially non-important provenience of
music. Good efforts rocks, period. Juan Atkins is emblematic
of this covert approach to music making, enabling him to an
untroubled inventive approach to music itself. Underground
Resistance (most ortodox Drexciya and Dopplereffekt) proved
this attitude's bearing as a movement.

Later Plastikman, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Ellen Allien et
al became fame struck, perhaps with handicapping effect on
their production. We all love Tuss more when we enjoy the
mystic around it and since we know it to be an output of the
music messianic AFX.

So acid 2.0 is this new analord genre? All these insipid
genre names... Is analord something new rather than
something retrospective? Acid is all about tweaking synths,
not only the 303 – Gerald Simpson has cleared that out
once and for all. I don't see added and improved digital
technology as a musical change.

But the article has some bearing on fanboy sociology. The
genre name analord wasn't invented or hasn't even been
mentioned alot on this board. Has Xltronic lost its trend
sensitivity – or do "we" stand above fan fashion?

Electrokinesia's Cassi Acid LP now in the speakers. Syntheme
next. Soon another post about Syntheme aesthetics.

offline MASUGNEN from Lund (Sweden) on 2009-03-27 15:41 [#02282651]
Points: 836 Status: Lurker

Yes, now is the time:

Do we find an anti-Tuss symbolism in Syntheme's cover choise
of a goat head sceleton and AFX-mocky track titles?

Goon left Rephlex, partially because the label took all the
money. Can we trace a Goon–AFX schism? What do you say,
prophet Mohamed?

Swedish regards!
