fah! really bad you lost your phone and we havent met again... shouldnt have gotten lost after the pusher. anyway best night ever!! pusher, ceephax and afx was one magic moment chasing the other, after that ive been a bit exhausted, rested for a while and looked out for you and retape. man, there was lots of bass and although it was really crowded i just moved my ass into the right spots. |

I had waited 7 years to see Aphex Twin live again (last time was in 2002), so my expectations were quite high. The show was a bit of a disappointment. The first 7 minutes were totally boring, then it took Aphex & Hecker 20 minutes to "build up" momentum. IMHO a poor response to the crowd who was already MORE than ready to dance! (Squarepusher & Ceephax did a great job of warming us up ;-)). There was little variation in the set. No hard vs. soft dynamics. Just a steadily increasing beat & loudness. I missed the playfulness that is so characteristic of a lot of Aphex's work :-(. Anyways, I didn't like/watch the video at the end of the AFX show. He may *want* my/our soul, but he can't have mine! Ruined the whole experience & was kinda mad about it. Damn it was a great festival..nice ambience..great sphere amongs the people..but the sound of some gigs was terrible. Like v snares..fucked up. I've heard much better. Aphex twin really dissappointed me with his set..he should only DJ in the future. And the VJ stuff in the end sucked imo. It was a real bummer to see a dead girls eye cut out. And I hate poop and pis sex too. It destroyed my evening for a while. Ceephax was great btw! Also Squarepusher but again: the sound wasnt that great imo. STRP should have invest more into a good quality sound system. And the most terrible thing of all was that I havent met any of you guys! Next time better folks! :-) |

Ceephax is pretty much guaranteed fun. I knew what to expect and he delivered! Squarepusher was sweet, but I came a bit late so only saw last 30 minutes. I was disappointed by Aphex too, had to rest a while after that set. And VS was just waaay to loud. I had to move back 3 times, heard much better VS sets as well. But it was great fun. And as long as it wasn't too crowded it was a nice and friendly atmosphere. |

yep... Squarepusher was fantastic... great sound i thought form where i was standing. Opened with "welcome to europe" but it became the same set as the last half-dozen. Brilliant but samey. Apehx Twin: Love the hecker malarky, the surround sound, the visuals (most of them)..... ceephax..... top of the nothes as always Roborob was agreat dj too. I got full squarepusher/aphex mp3's too. Sound is good enough for a live recordings. I'll put them up by thurday nite. The videos too shakey to bother with youtube. |
