Hi,

Can you recommend any musicians similar to the following?

Biosphere
Scanner
FSOL

I guess I would describe the genre I'm asking about as
"ambient soundscape" or something like that... Whether
mellow or aggressive, just not too beat oriented.

Any names?

Much thanks,
ka

Global Communications (76:14 is a good one)

(Though a bit cheesy at times) Dr. Jeffrey Thompson

Steve Roach

'Structures From Silence',
'The Magnificent Void'
'Midnight Moon'

These are all good soundscape albums. Some of Roach's albums
are beat oriented but not these ones. Anyways, he's probably
my favorite ambient artist. He's released shitloads of
albums, most of them very good.

Thanks Wolfslice, Powli, Advocate and Fernz for your
suggestions!

Steve Roach has quite the discography. I've listened to a
few tracks from him at this point and am definitely into his
music.

Found some previews of recent Thomas Koner... sounds
fantastic. Going to keep looking for him.

Not eerie per se but Brock Van Wey's A Chance To Start Over
is nice.

Similar to dub techno but without the beats.

Has that sun breaking through the clouds after a wicked
thunder storm sound.

Variant's The Setting Sun is similar as well & I'd say that
one gets a tad eerie.
