the new ad is an insult. trying to sell rebellion to a bunch of desperate spoilt wankers has stooped to a new low. i personally feel it orbits the heart of a problem we're going to have to face here in UK. discuss the sheer shittiness of skins please.

no no no. this awful series is a complete lie. it's a wet dream for a generation who have no cause to get down with so they lap this up and have their skins partays and pretend they've got a system to take down. they are another part of what's going to explode in min 4 years blud trust

skins is just continuing a tradition of selling a commercialised interpretation of "cool" to dumb teens. i am absolutely certain there are plenty of young people out there who can see through it and have no interest in that lifestyle.
one of the projects i'm working on at work at the moment is a debating competition for young people and i can tell you there are some 12-15 year olds who are so intelligent and clued-up it's fucking frightening. those ones seem to be fans of The Mighty Boosh and not Skins, just as when I was that age I was into Chris Morris and not Brookside or whatever was telling Young People how to live.

btw I too used to hate the Mighty Boosh and then I actually sat down and watched a few episodes. the difference is that the Mighty Boosh isn't trying to tell you how to dress, the point is frequently made that Vince Noir is an arrogant wanker who would rather sell out his friends than not be the height of fashion.
"You know what I'm like when it comes to clothes. Remember that time I pushed that toddler in front of a Juggernaut cause he was standing on my Top Shop voucher?"
