the original disney DVD is no longer unavailable on amazon.com. it says 'discontinued by manufacturer'. maybe they are afraid of legal action, should anyone think it's OK to eat strange looking mushrooms after watching it? fucking war on drugs ruins everything. Anyone have a copy left? |

Hmm... Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland remake is coming out in 2010. Maybe they've discontinued the original as a single dvd because they're planning on re-releasing it as a set with the Tim Burton one? I admit that's a stretch, and I wouldn't put it past Disney to try to erase sections of their own history. (I couldn't find the original article that explains that pic, but Disney refused to acknowledge the existence of that black centaur until very old footage leaked and they could no longer deny it.) Maybe they've discontinued the original so that all the people caught pining for it in a flurry of nostalgia won't care if the remake was any good when it hits store shelves. |

that's an interesting article. thanks. most likely i will get the 2disc edition from ebay. i'm quite interested in burton's take on the story. a slightly darker atmosphere would be great i think. american mcgee's Alice PC game blew me away. |

ah, I see you've found the article in that link. I didn't realise you could scroll the picture frame section down to get the article. I had read it on a completely different website. Glad you were able to find it. I also liked American McGee's Alice. I'd like to replay that, actually. I suppose I'll end up seeing Burton's Alice when that comes out, too. I'm never one to get too excited about a movie before I've seen it, but hopefully the Burton remake will be ace. |
