has anyone seen this film? its horrible. its pure genius,
and i enjoyed it, but it was horrible in the way that it was
meant to be imo.

and the part where they russian guy is singing "you light up
my life." this part is fucking hilarious.

lol! there was no one in the house when i watched it and so
i allowed myself to get quite vocal. this started out as
gut wrenching laughter, but at certain points i turned to
load groans and screams of "no!" because it just seemed to
go to far at points and became sickening rather than
humorous, but in the end it was all worth it.

i've heard about this movie, and while i'm curious to see it
cos i'm a total movie FREAK.......i dunno if i'll actually
rent it. something tells me it will haunt my consciousness
for a long time, i think i could do without that!

I thought the opening scene (in the restaurant) was one of
the most uncomfortable piece of cinema ever filmed. I was
squirming around in my seat wanting to leave the theatre. It
was a good movie, but I'm sure the subject matter would
strike some people as tasteless.

i rented it in september after having looked for it for
THREE YEARS. it's really not that bad, in my opinion. i
found it very funny, not very disturbing (compared to its
buildup).

Purposely horrible, like Doom Generation? Something like
that?

Anyone seen Todd's newest film Storytelling? I thought it
was pretty good. I loved John Goodman and the lady who
played his wife. The documentary film was hilarious too.
Todd Solondz is quite a filmmaker.

I saw Storrytelling and enjoyed it to pieces.

LeCoeur, you should see Storrytelling, and just know that
Happiness is a bit more tasteless and offensive and you can
decide whether or not you need to see it.

Btw, the opening scene for Happiness was awesome. I didn't
want it to end.

I loved the opening scene. it was so funny, i thought the
whole movie was damn witty.

regarding the first question, that varies from person to
person.

regarding the second question, that varies from area to
area. in a city you can find it. in missouri? good luck. you
can order the dvd quite easily online tho.

honestly titsworth, missouri gets a bad wrap. you probably
have the wrong impression of it,,,BUT, your right, happiness
is probably hard to find.

I bet the movie will be hard to find too.

I think Happiness is farely easy to find. Too, I like the
scene where Bill tells his psychiatrist about killing people
in the park. And the 'You Light Up My Life' I found
touching, really.

't is a good transfer, oh yes.

I didn't like storytelling that much. 'fiction' was okay,
but 'non-fiction' - NO !

this is one of the funniest movies ever...

I brought it to watch on the bus on our school trip to
barcelona... I think it was just me, and a friend of mine
who also loves it, that laughed; the others just got chocked
by the sick stories... I think nobody dared to laugh at the
scene where the dad tells his son how great it was to fuck
his sons friend... thats funny! or...isn't it? is it wrong
to laugh at that?

it's an absolutely brilliant picture. loads of black humour
which i love. definately the best film by solondz...i didn't
like "storytelling" much, but "welcome to the dollhouse" was
really good.

happiness is excellent. welcome to the dollhouse is great as
well. storytelling is good, but not nearly as nice as the
other two, me thinks.

Joe: What do you think would happen if I got him a
professional... you know...
Bill: A professional?
Joe: Hooker. You know, the kind that can teach things...
first-timers, you know... break him in.
Bill: But Joe, he's 11.
Joe: You're right, you're right. It's too late.
