haven't had one in a few years, been trying to avoid them.
got an ipod and been uploading all my cd's. forgot how much
i use to love idm. uploaded my v-snares, aphex, plaid,
jega, slepcy(not really idm), boc, and mu-ziq. any
recommendations of new stuff in the past few years?

yes use to be an addict of this site. i suppose i
drifted off. started to listen to nin and deftones and
stuff like that which i do like but still know where my home
is. nothing like idm. i don't even like letting my friends
listen to it cuz i like to consider it my own, but i was in
a pizza place the other day and they were playin the rdj
album and was rather surprised then felt somewhat violated.
i have, except for the joyrex's, (including old stuff like
bradley's robot) have everything (including old stuff like
bradley's robot) aphex made. i could totally be a stalker.

heard ok computer way too much. i simply can't take those
tracks anymore, apart from paranoid android. that track
deserves a place in documented music history.

hahaha agree in a way. guess im liven in the past. i
don't trust new music though. its all getting so 'im artist
listen to me' stylizied. ive been so out of the mix i dont
know where to start.

that statement only holds value if you've experienced them
live (you haven't seen them, because it's usually way too
dark).

the latest snares is one of my favs i think. really
loud/insane drum n bass/breakcore rave music :)
it's hard to recommend other stuff if you only mention stuff
like afx/squarepusher/boc. defs check out the analord series
though (11 EPs of acid on analogue gear) and the tuss.

recommending analord on xltronic is a really awkward
experience.

downloading analord now. and yea never heard autechre live.
honestly if i did pretty sure i would change my mind cuz
any idm live would be amazing.

in my opinion Autechre is not really the kind of thing you
casually put on, it's for more special occasions, or for
when you need a challenge

everywhere i went to try to get analord it would work.
plus, you didn't tell me analord was aphex's most recent
shit! now i have to hear it.

correction, it would not work!

correction the tuss is more recent

challenge and music don't belong in the same discussion - it
just reeks of pretension.

awkward because you'd never really expect everyone is well
aware of analord. yeah, analord was 11 EPs by AFX, later put
into a ten track cd compilation. the tuss has an album and
ep, everyones pretty much 100% confident its afx alias (or
afx +others).

when i get into it, autechre is no challenge and i can play
that stuff 24/7.

that said, i do think challenge and music can go in same
sentence. had this discussion with a friend whos mostly into
guitar music, and hated the idea that i'd listen to music
that doesnt insantly click. but if something's interesting,
i like to give it a chance, and he totally didn't get that.
that's what i see as beign a challenge, and i don't think
theres anything pretentious about that..

I think autechre's main approach to music is to challenge
the listener, now when i say challenge i mean to get the
listener following complex patterns and textures. these
patterns don't always fall into a regular time signature,
making the music far more abstract, even unpleasant and
upsetting to some people. So i think that music can be
challenging, maybe not to everyone, but to allot of people
it's not an easy listen, it requires a bit of work and
concentration you know...

Hey NeoExmnist !

Get some drumcorps and otto von shirach "Global Speaker
Fisting".
Got some half guitar half electronic stuff going on there.
DJ Scotch egg is pretty cool too.

Dj scotch egg is good live, but i wouldn't torture myself by
listening at home
