pawel's mushroom / chicken pate:
boil chicken breast or equivalent amount of meat using other parts of chicken.
meanwhile saute half an onion and a couple of cloves of garlic in a saucepan with half a cup of butter or two teaspoons of oil
(don't worry about chopping the onions well or peeling the garlic cause youre going to blend it up at end)
when the onions and garlic are brown/roasted looking add in a cup of your favorite shrooms (darker ones work best). let them simmer for about 5 minutes untill they release theyre juices, you'll know by the smell
pick the chicken meat off the bones and put it and the chicken stock (chicken's hot tub water) into a blender or food processer.
grind chop and puree, then add the sauce pan contents, including the grease/oil into the mix. puree more till its all one tone with little specks of shroom.
when its cooled down to room temperature, add an egg, and half a cup of breadcrumbs. mix and then you can salt and pepper to your taste.
put it in a container and let it cool. enjoy on bread, toast, crackers, or just plain on a leaf of lettuce. keep it in you refridgerator for up to 3 weeks. use this recipe and sub in your favorites, steak or pork loins taste the best. chicken and livers are the cheapest meat you can use. try it with other veggies like tomatoe or peppers. vegans can sub beans for meat.
if its to impress a girl, its very important you don't use the oniions cause of the gas you'll get, and don't make it with livers either cause she'll think youre a gross bastard.

i really like artichokes but hadn't tried to use them yet. i usually just do chicken, or chicken liver pate. the good muschrooms are pretty expensive, roughly twice the price of a pound of chicken so they are a luxury. i'm a big fan of pate on the count that i have no teeth, and chewing hard things usually makes my dentures move around in my mouth.
