What do you think?

I'm big fan of 'Modern Warfare' and thought it was a breath
of from all that boring World War stuff ..So I really don't
know what to expect. On the plus side there's flame-throwers
and 4 player Co-Op but on the flip side boring rifles and
french farmers and shit like that.

Yeah. i think MW was so good, because I got bored to tears
of that WW shite. And multi-player was so good. So if they
improve the formula a bit + 4 player Co-Op = fun times.

And Vehicles are back too.

I just bought Modern War last week (just got me a fancy new
internet connection). For PC of course. I'm obsessing over
my ratio (currently lvl 53 with 4303 kills/ 4258 deaths). I
wont be happy with it until it's at least 1.5-1.

Waiting on GTA4 (PC release date nov 17th)... the
multiplayer on PC is gonna be totally kickass.

We now return to the previously scheduled thread.

I don't know why it has to be WWII. Didn't one of the Medal
of Honor games do WWI? Either way, they could do that,
Vietnam, the Spanish Civil War, etc. What about the
American Revolution followed by the War of 1812 expansion
pack.

I'm still waiting for someone to make this into a
video game. I think if it were done by a talented developer
it could be a lot of fun, especially if they emphasized
survival and guerrilla warfare rather than over-the-top
action.

This game used basically the same concept but with an
action-oriented approach. It was also a strategy game, which
I enjoy, but I'd like to see an iteration of that story in
first or third-person adventure style.

Also the other eras you mentioned would be good choices for
video games.

If you like real-time strategy (RTS) games, check
this game out. It's set in the 18th century.

Another cool period-game is Call of Juarez, a wild-west
gunfighting/platforming adventure that is a lot better than
it was at launch since it's received some quality patches.

i think the next generation in FPS games, must be in the
details, keep it realistic, lighting, shadows, noise
sensitivity, depth of field, movements etc COD is the only
game to start to improve in these areas.

also for online gaming, there needs to be more objective
games, which the whole team must cooperate in order for it
to work, this way it gets people communicating and using
each other's skills.

i have some pretty good ideas for FPS game concepts to make
the whole experience fun and enduring, but i'm sure the
experts will take care of it soon

Not calling you out, but COD is hardly the only game to
improve in those areas, and it's not even on the cutting
edge of current tech. Just saying. :)

Apart from the eastern european countries I wonder if anyone

I was more refering to when I was a child in the 70's and

it would be interesting to remake IT with the kids from
saved by the bell. screech vs the teenage werewolf would be
great. the actors would be the right age now to do when
they are older
, but they may have to cgi pennywise into
existing saved by the bell footage.

i had already thought of an idea for a show called
dawson's beak, where in addition to the normal
drama they would also have to watch out for a giant bird
flying overhead killing at will.

close your doors, shut out the light,
the giant bird is taking flight,
you know that it will swoop and pluck your head
so run for cover or you'll be dead.

i don't want to wait, for that bird to fly over,
you know that it is winged and deadly.
i don't want to wait, for that bird to fly over,
let's hide and cry or else we'll be.. sorry
do do doo do do, do do doo do do..

people seem to forget that IT is not a cheesy tv
miniseries,

it is an epic novel by Stephen King.

well, for our version we can add in stuff from the book that
isn't in the movie like the teenage werewolf, the giant bird
(don't think that was in the tv series), and the 12 yr old
magic sex that saves the day at the end.

i wish there was a way we could work call of duty into all
of this though. maybe it starts out with them all playing
online multiplayer from their own homes, and they all start
seeing pennywise on the battlefield and think it is some new
downloadable content. then when he starts killing other
players in ways too gruesome to be part of the game, and
they never respawn, they know something is up..

The reviews have been surprisingly good, but they picked a
bad time to release it. I'm swamped, I've got Gears of War
2's campaign to finish, Motorstorm 2's story mode, been
playing tons of Resistance 2 co-op, still have to finish up
Far Cry 2's campaign and Fallout 3's sidequests... then
Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia and Left 4 Dead... just
no room or time for CoD5 right now. I'll pick it up used in
early '09.

I'm thinking of doing the same. It's that interval again
where treyarch is the developer, and I haven't heard good
things about their work in the past. I'm definitely waiting
for a healthy number of reviews, both professional and
user/player, before I purchase this.

Dead Space, yeah, you're in for a treat. Between that,
Mother 3 fan translation and Little Big Planet, there's 3 of
my favorite games ever in just the last month. Added to all
the games I already namedropped. Ridiculous year.

Treyarch is OK, but there's too much AAA stuff out there...
they don't fit in. I know I won't be putting any time into
the online, and CoD campaigns aren't worth 55 bucks... solid
bargain buy eventually though.

I noticed this evening that Come to Daddy is on the
Motorstorm 2 OST, cool.
