Repetitive Music

po{e} from the uk on 2001-06-16 00:51 [#00009897]

is not Aphex Twin, despite what my rock/pop/metal/goth
friends think, I watched Mettalic S&M a few days ago and
that was more repetitive than any ttrance or garage I have
heard, the same guitar riffs...repeated over, some guy
saying devil stuff...each song sounding EXACTLY the
same....

I hate people who put IDM in the garage / trance box and
call it repetitive, these simple minded, non free thinking
pop loving american loving idiots should SHUT THEIR FACES

that is my rant......dont worry, I am getting a website
speciffically for slagging off =D

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-16 02:18 [#00009901]

Metallicas s&m could be hailed as something incredible, I
would beg to differ. I think that album was total SHIT. I
don't care what they can do with some stupid symphony, or
something like that. It sounded like stupid ass shit to me.
You are wrong about lots of things poe, and believe me,
there is TONS of guitar tunes out there that are awsome, and
you just won't bother to listen, please, stop being so
nieve.

DirtyLittleBoy from USA on 2001-06-16 02:29 [#00009903]

poe, you have friends?

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-16 05:09 [#00009913]

I like poe, its just that I need to keep my opinions out
there, and he needs to be kept on his toes, hes a good DooD

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-06-16 05:21 [#00009914]

Po{e} is not as bad as everyone thinks. He is just a little
negative, other than that, he never did anything terrible.

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-16 05:49 [#00009918]

Yeah thats pretty much it man.

Thiefofalways from Germany on 2001-06-17 13:16 [#00010052]

Poe, Im getting tired of you bashing Americans. Im not going
to get into a big name calling session with you here, just
know that your country puts out just as much total shit pop
garbage as mine does. Stop being so god damn crass, I bet
youve never even been over there. We have loads of terrible
music and alot of fools that say stooped shit, but for a
nation as small as yours, you do a good job keeping up.
Relax man, an american idiot or a british idiot, or a
canadian idiot are an idiot at the end of the day. Dont
blame nationality on genetics.

po{e} from the uk on 2001-06-17 13:43 [#00010053]

3% of the world population 25% of the polloution, need I say
more?

nha, sorrry d00d, I admit my country makes crap pop, but one
question, what IDM has come from america?

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-17 17:36 [#00010065]

let's just get to the point. The reason DJ's don't like good
music is because they can not dance to it. There are huge
misassumptions on nearly every music genre that are not true
but due to mainstream pop mind of society this music is
pushed aside and considered unmarketable.

Missasumptions:
1. All electronica is techno, or dance music. (at a store i
go to Aphex is filed in the fucking DANCE section for christ
sake! :(:(:( )
2. All metal is loud screaming and you can't understand a
word they say....

....add your other common misassumptions you may have
heard.

The point is that until some artist has a song that everyone
catches onto then no one really gives a shit. Because the
majority of idiots who run the music industry (although
there are a few good labels out there, and a few ingenius
music industry peeps, mostly in the indie field) could give
a shit less about innovative music -- THEY JUST WANT MONEY.

when i first came to this site, this is what i was banging
on about....

Exactly.

cheech wizard from age on 2001-06-17 18:15 [#00010070]

fat ugly men with cigars telling all the kids what to listen
to, we wont even talk about radio.....

SWAI from Denmark on 2001-06-17 19:15 [#00010073]

Not to go all nationalistic or anything, but i would just
like to say that radioheads amnesiac is currently number two
at the top 40!!!

what good taste we have....

at the time, i want to see the light side of everything.
I´m beginning to not really hate any kind of music any
more!

if you focus, try seing whats good in bands like britney
spears, and such.

Understanding is the way to a better world. if we just go
out and hate everyone, wheres it gonna end?
instead of hating britney spears fans, say, yes i know why
you like her, but have you considered listening to
this/that

just some thoughts...

and Po{e}, no one hates you!!!!

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-17 20:41 [#00010080]

Its alll good what people are saying, what make me sick is
that popstars show. anyone watch it? Probably only canadians
and americans know about it. Anyone else?. Ive seen it, its
from that guy that put together the backstreet boys and
nsync and now that otown shit.. hes crazy.

rob fragilenine from rock on 2001-06-18 01:24 [#00010096]

yeah i've seen popstars... it shows how pre-produced,
manufactured and pre-packaged pop music is... and they've
got a show over here in australia called 'star struck' and
it's like a talent show thing. it's ok when a girl goes on
there and sings pop songs, but when an even SLIGHTLY heavy
band goes on there, the judges tell them to tone down!!!
WTF??? If my band went on there (we do
idm/industrial/metal/dance/electronica) and they said that
to us, the answer would be a good strong 'FUCK OFF!'. Anyone
else agree?

ps. sorry i might have gone a bit too far on this popstars
thing...

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-18 01:35 [#00010098]

No its ok. back years ago when I was in a good hardcore/punk
band.. we played lots of shows, a hardcore festival and a
punk festival even. we got quite well known in the city, and
to this day people still come up and ask me if I was in that
band.. its neat. But I remember thinking that if we ever got
famous and MTV or muchmusic wanted us to get an award we
would go up on stage tell everyone to fuck themselves, and
then throw the award threw the big television screen behind
us.. burn them all! Im not quite like that anymore, but Id
still do the same If I won an award from them.

rob fragilenine from comment on 2001-06-18 01:48 [#00010100]

i used to be in a metal/rock/punk band, and when we played
at parties we had 1 song that everyone liked (because it
sounded like blink 182), but the rest of our songs were
really heavy. people even used to request dance songs! how
can you do that with a real drummer???

and i don't mean they asked for dance like underground
stuff, they wanted vengaboys!

SWAI from Denmark on 2001-06-18 12:27 [#00010140]

I like britney spears better than eminem and limp bizkit...
seriusly!!

I really do hate when limp bizkit claims to be a rebel and
shit, and then at the awards show "Yes, i´d like to thank
our sponsors, nike and pepsi etc etc...."

EMINEM SUCKS ASS!!!

get the kid 606 remix of eminem

"you think i give a damm about a grammy YES im the real
britney spears"
