i can tell you are serious about photography, but wanting to
capture something 'on film' and trying to achieve the same
results by converting every shot to black and white will
NEVER make it look as though it was shot on film. It looks
digital and poorly converted (please don't tell me you use
in-camera b/w mode), and the noise, intended or not, does
not look like film grain.

Why don't you buy a film SLR with some good b/w film? You
have the experience to stop relying on digital, and it would
make these kind of pics a hundred times better.

Either that, or invest in a prime L lens, and weeks of
photoshop training.

Sorry to sound harsh, but if you go out early in the morning
to take photos, you should ask yourself if you are ok with
good pictures when you could be taking excellent ones.

What you see here is an attempt to capture feelings or
memories, not an attempt to emulate a certain style of
film.

I realize it might not fit with everyone's ideal of how a
"black and white" photo is supposed to look. That was never
my goal.

i realize that. you captured an atmosphere. it just seems
like you don't give the black and white conversion much
attention and it's shame, IMO. I just think you and your
camera are capable of more. There's a time for snapshots,
good shots, and great shots and these could have been the
latter.

Do you have some larger versions? Because I would like some
larger versions.
