basically about the eeriness of the track and recent child
abduction cases-we all know that BOC have an ongoing theme
with the 'tranquil' side of childlike innosense and the
nostalga-interesting.

Ive always thought mhtrtc is much more boring than geogaddi,
but thats just me.

Archrival - hehe everytime i see a boc post i can always
expect to see some feedback from yourself, keepin it real as
always.

maxima n hi-score are both better than geogaddi imo, i h
fact it's thezuir worst so far i think, seems like old
tracks that couldn't fit on the other release re-masterized
and edited

offline D-Hex from Blue Springs Missouri (United States) on 2002-03-28 23:04 [#00147778]
Points: 871 Status: Lurker

nah your wrong e

they all flow so nicely, it would be too much of a
coincidence if they were all old tracks and just happened to
fit as nicely as they do.

The thing with geogaddi is that you can only feel its true
power when you hear it all the way through (and inhaling
burning vegetation from a member of the sativa family). Its
a very good, calming and person thing then, but with my busy
lifestyle :) i dont have the time to do that, so it falls by
the wayside.

I just love putting geogaddi on when i just kinda wanna
space out for a lil bit....playing madden, coloring a
blacklight poster, driving,,,,,although i try not to space
out while im driving.

everyone on the road look out for MEEEE!

it was just a thought o course, but in the case i want that
style of music i just put on MHTRTC, it's sad geogaddi is
more of the same but not better or re-invented

offline D-Hex from Blue Springs Missouri (United States) on 2002-03-28 23:23 [#00147818]

true, what can i say i love em both. I think whats great
about boc isnt necessarily their imaginative melodies and
all that, but just how their samples actually sound, they
are all very moody, full, warm sounds and those used in a
slick lil melody just turns me on..............no?

for warp records, this is how often i listen to their albums
from 2001 (that i own) plus the recent geogaddi.

aphex twin - at first a whole LOT, but it's probably been 3
months since i've listened to either disc. my favorite album
of 2001, btw. i hope to listen to it again this weekend.

plaid - not often but about three times this week. one of my
favorites from last year (better than ae or squarepusher).

autechre - it's probably been 5 months since i've listened
to confield but i've been meaning to listen to it lately. i
think it's a great album, but it's not something i reach
for.

squarepusher - it's probably been 6 months since i've
listened to it in its entirety. i lost interest after a
while. not much lasting power.

prefuse 73 - i just stole it from my wack radio station a
few weeks ago. i listened to it 3 times, and i know i'll
listen to it again but it may be a few months.

boc - the first 2 weeks i had it i played it non-stop. then
i didn't play it for 2 weeks except the songs i played on my
radio show. i've listened to it about 4 times since. i love
the individual songs i play on my radio show (one a week)
but as a whole it hasn't interested me much lately.

i might've forgotten a couple warp releases but the above is
from the top of my head. my list is kind of misleading tho
cos i don't really listen to ANY release for months and
months at a time. the only recent exceptions for me were
amnesiac by radiohead, drukqs by aphex, and amethyst rock
star by saul williams. i guess cos i buy so many cd's. but i
still think it's fair to say none of the cd's i listed above
(including everyone's favorite, boc) compare to drukqs..

the voices, the melodies, I love it all, but the key to my
enjoyment of boards is the overall layering. they are
masters. all the time they put into the subtlties really
gets me. i haven't heard geogaddi in a couple weeks and i
think it's time to throw it down again =)

Those writing off Geogaddi, I suggest you wait a while. Give
it a few more listens. Beware of albums you instantly love.
Those ones that take longer to grow on you tend to be the
ones that have longer shelf lives.

agreed. i liked geogaddi from the beginning but wasn't
really into it until more recent listens. the beach at
redpoint is one that never really stuck out until recently.
don't know how it passed me by all those times i listened to
all the way through.

I can't stop listening to "julie and candy" and "dawn
chorus" - both are amazing, along with the rest of the
album.
