you remind me of my one friend. he is completely obsessed
with his own music, he hardly ever listens to anything else.
whenever he is around, he never fails to subject you to his
music. it drives me crazy.

Rock solid. The track is good cx, some people just get fed
up because you have a high volume of [spam] ;p

That doesn't bother me much though.

I gotta get my hands on some of these orchestral vsts at
some point.

Yeah, but your music's good and you tour, have albums and
EPs out, you make something of it and you have the respect
of most anyone that has the chance to hear your work.

cx, unless he crawls out of his basement and does anything
with all this (and I'm sure there's some overwrought art
film or cable TV advert for Bibles just crying out for this
stuff) then it's just spam, and no one likes spam.

what about the people who feel stuck in a rut? or don't have
any direction for their output of music? I need some
direction for my stuff, dont know what to do, i feel ashamed
for coming on this site so much, while people i know must
think i'm a loser, and i htink i'm a loser alot, i am not
meant for this shit, i am a good person and i can bring
peace and help people, i swear

I know dear, it's fine. I just don't think XLT should be the
be all and end all of the output of someone's output, surely
that would be a very frustrating experience. It's ok if you
do the odd track for fun (hey, I used to), but to do it to
the extent that cx does, it's like a fucking career. Well,
whatever makes one happy, whatever gives one hope (to
paraphrase Bongwater).

I don't know. But aren't there "labels" that distribute this
sort of music to be used as incidental music in
documentaries or for whatever, I used to work in a studio
that had a billion of these fucking CDs of non-descript
music. We never used any of it, obviously, it was vile, but,
... oh I don't know, the fuck do I know about anything.

It's inoffensive, a bit of fun, let's lighten up.

Though I can't help but snicker like the massive cunt I am
along with Ecnard's comment.

I was really talking about the good sort of obsessiveness
about one's own music during it's creation vs the ugly kind
that some display after it, about it. As usual I had an
inability to say anything much with any clarity (the comma
before "during its creation" didn't really do its job very
well.) The first sort of obsessiveness doesn't annoy anyone,
because you're sat there, in front of your
knobs/keyboard/screen/whatever, occasionally shouting at the
lifeless things if they crash. The second sort involves
actual other people, either in "real life" or online.

I don't know, I've just had very depressing and irritating
experiences with people who obsess over past creations; they
sit there, harping on about these old old pieces, about how
unjust it is they haven't "gone anywhere", they go on about
them and play them to your tired, fed up, false-smiling ears
and tiredly nodding face. And they haven't made anything
with any sort of conviction or effort for a long time.

And don't worry, you're lovely fellow.

Basically i agree really. cx is just doing my head in now.
when i first crashed xlt cx was making better tunes that,
while not being completely rounded tracks, were far less
self involved. basically cx has just carpet bombed us with
uninteresting screech drones that last for 30 mins, there is
a new one every day, and he dosn't show any sign of
stopping. i think the point at which i turned was after that
'bored of music' thread. i spewed paragraphs of crap accross
that thread and felt mildly betrayed when 'psilonix 10' or
whatever turned up the next day, now i'm just grumpy. i
still love you cx just take a break bruv

look, ok i spam too much, but why make such a big deal out
of it..

i dont see it the way either slip or ampi sees it..

to me im just experimenting and believe it or not MOST
COMMENTS IN MY THREADS were positive.
i didnt care about the negative ones that told me to fuck
off(partly because i thought they were joking and partly cuz
they were just trying to be offensive)

slip: im content with releasing on netlabels, and releasing
cd's, i dont need to expose my music much more than that.
sure my own signed cd would be awesome, but really its not a
big deal.

and ampi: those drones and noisy pieces are just to
experiment.. i am happy with them (molodon for instance) but
i DONT obsess over them. obviously its going to be 0.0001%
of earth who like them as opposed to the poppy stuff i
make.
maybe its self involved, but what does it matter..

as long as theres juice in me i will make music, ill stop
spamming on xlt though, even though i had some regulars who
seemed to enjoy my tracks..
either way, why would i take a break now, its only just
begunnnn

agaric fair enough. i did use it as my main platform,
because i dunno where else to get my shit heard right away
after the song is done.

in fact this message board is the only place i know of where
people might be remotely into my type of music..

once in a blue moon it is though then..

dont be silly you plum! keep posting spams but just give me
some time to dislike the last one before another pops up.
and btw i liked your drones up to a point, always hoping
they'd develope into something. i just havn't heard a nice
beat from you in god knows how long. the drones are...a bit
bland to be honest, but not without potential. they just
don't do you justice.
remember that despite my recent grouchiness, i like you and
even respect the music you made until a month or two back.
but what you've been posting recently really is too up it's
own bum. don't be put off tho just do what you do.

does vvatmm not have v vvhole section dedicated to this? you
could also open a zebox page or make a vvebsite. you can
even make a thread letting everyone knovv that you have made
a vvebsite and if they vvant to follovv your progress, they
can go there for updates.

'i dunno where else to get my shit heard right away
after the song is done.'

You don't even wait until you've finished a track! This
thread being a perfect example. That aside, perhaps it's not
best to get feedback after every little thing you do. You
need to be confident enough in your own ability to put
together a coherent piece of work if you're ever going to
get anywhere (I assume, CS2x?) and changing things to fit
with the whims of a few members of a message board such as
this is going to do you no favours. I forgot what my point
was, oh well.
