in fact (for the few people who downloaded the last set i
posted "the third hand") this set might seem quite
familiar.

it's a continuation from "the third hand". i added a few
tracks, tossed out a few and changed some and had the chance
to play it yesterday on a local festival.

here you go with the set and if you are totally
bored you can also watch this. in 4:25 mins there
is a short footage of me playing

I'm amazed no-one's began to rip the shit out of this
because it sounds like Autechre. In fact it sounds heavily like
Autechre, some of those drum patterns are almost clones.

Having said that this is lush and probably the best stuff
I've heard you come up with Sadist! Have you got any
Elektron gear? I keep thinking that I'm hearing it. Anyway,
this beats Quaristice.

hm. curious i haven't posted in that thread you linked fi
because i do in fact dig this stuff you posted over the last
year a lot. didn't i talk to you about that before? weird.

anyways no no i haven't got any elektrons and i even talked
to you about droping by and jamming on one this summer
remember? in fact i was very busy in scotland so i couldn't.

most of the "synthetic" drum sounds are made with drumatic
vst and waldorf attack. i mostly use drumatic for snares and
bass drums and waldorf for some wicked hi/hats and bleeps.

drumatic has the lushest bass drum of any vst i have heard.
it is so lush you shit your pants when you turn the decay on
full. even when i make a bassdrum with another vst or even
use a sample i very often mix a kick from drumatic to give
it a bit more depth.

oh and in fact yeah - in one track from the middle you have
this 3 snare hits like in lcc. but come on.

I have already listened to it 4 times. There's just
something about your sets sadist that hits me in the right
spot. It was the same with the one about planets.

I like the lcc part better than lcc itself so I don't mind
the resemblance.

Haha sorry it wasn't an attack on you, more an attack on the
people who criticise stuff like this which respects Ae for
what they're doing.

Gah I remember now! You really need to check the Elektron
gear out though, with what you're doing it sounds like it
would totally suit you.

Drumatic is indeed very nice, I used that myself before I
got the Machinedrum. I've never tried out Waldorf Attack,
I'll look into that further.

Immense set btw, your best yet. I'm gonna listen to this on
the train back home tomorrow again.

i have to admit that i was highly influenced by what ae were
doing live during the last 2 years. i think the earlier,
2005 post-untilted sets are still one of their best.

i in fact had a lot of contact with the elektrons last year
at a polish music-gear convention. i was about 85 percent of
the time spend on that convetion either at the machine drum
or monomachine. the monomachine seemed a bit not my style
because i just don't like the idea of making synthlines on a
sequencer like this. must be horrible.

on the other hand the machinedrum - i was in love just after
i touched it the first time. totally straight-forward, i
think i knew every function after just spending 15 minutes
with it. it was an awful lot of fun.

the problem is - no money. now when i was in scotland i
found this great offer in glasgow @ soundcontrol because
they where changing their name to reverb store. there was a
machinedrum-uw for 499 pounds but i just didn't have the
money.
