I like them both. I think I prefer the stage right one as I prefer the beat and it is reminds me of a stripped down ae sort of sound.

commenting as i listen...
starting with stage left, the bass and the heavy snare really kicks ass, and the organish harmony rocks.
the third melody that comes in later is cool too. cool mood methinks.
stage right is AWESOME ok.
goddamn dude that beat and the synths and effects and everything.. really kickass..
i like both, but i also think right is better, but i do appreciate the mood in left even tho its a little thinner.. cool ideas all around tho.

yea they are both cool, but the remix has a lot more going on.
you might consider the remix stage a regular part of your process. i'm starting to find too that tracks really seem to open up if i give them a good pass or 2 of cuts and reprocessing after the track is all sequenced start to finish and has a basic mix.

cx: thanks yo ;p
glasse: yeah, I can't imagine putting a track together without a fair amount of "remixing" going on. I usually tend to work on stuff for 20 or 30 minute bursts, close up shop and then come back with a fresh set of ears a few hours later and make the proper revisions as I go along. Ableton makes it super easy to go back and edit your work.
As far as this remix goes though, it was a little different-- I opened up the original song and deleted all my patterns and just started from scratch basically using the same sound template I'd set up for the first track, adding new channels and effects where applicable.

I believe you may have confused my thread with the RIP Richard Wright thread.
