i usually find it more annoying when someone points out a slight language error than the initial error itself. also, in america it is generally acceptable to seem more casual about something you may feel strongly about. actually, euphemisms are often socially preferred to strong statements. for instance, someone asks what you thought of their presentation.. "yea, we decided to go a different way with that," would be much more common than, "we didn't like what you did and are going to use someone else." so, if someone were to say "you know, I don't really like animal suffering," to another american, they may just reply "yep, not so into that myself," while casually shaking their head. |

XLT loves their grammar. Over time I realized "proper grammar" is the crutch of forum trolls, not hinting you or anything PORICK , in general it usually leads to this conclusion. Most people on the net are trying to speak english because it is not their first language to begin with. I on the other hand, absolutely do not give a shit if my grammar is good on a music forum because it's not a cover letter for a job, business proposal, or thesis. The fact that I'm a bit taller then people, my hands always press the wrong keys, so for me, I could not care less because I'm not going to try to articulate something that by virtue of it's context doesn't even need to be. There are few people that are in positions that they require irrefutable oversight of grammatic usage. I never really understood how this could be such an inconvenience for someone. Are these people blind ? Because then I could imagine if they cannot have words read back to them properly, or maybe they have a sickness or something? |
