New Order reissues soon!

I'm drooling...

New Order's 80's albums are finally getting a proper deluxe
re-release later this year, hopefully they will be a vast
improvement over the tinny sounding CDs that are currently
on the market.

Each CD gets a bonus disc of more studio music! (As opposed
to Depeche's bonus DVDs of interviews, and Joy Divisions
scrappy live tracks)

New Order were such a big part of my life as a kid in the
80's!

Here's the source on it.

now if Devo would get around to deluxe re-issuing their
first 3 albums and hardcore devo albums i'd be happy.

my fave New Order album is Substance, which seems like it's
not going to ever be reissued (there's been like 5 or 6 New
Order collections out since so it'd be overkill). It looks
like from the bonus material on these extra discs that I can
piece together a new Substance comp.

I think they (New Order) finally listened to their fans and
delivered all the b-side and rare stuff that were neglected
off the Retro box set.

oooh yeah baby. I just got Movement, Power..., and
Brotherhood in the mail today! I'm going to listen to the
bonus discs first.

Low-life and Technique i'll get after my next paycheck.

Indeed. I saw the new reissues looking round record stores
once and thought "I must get those next time." After reading
about all the shoddy "remastering" work, I'm definitely not
buying them whatsoever.

God to see they've restored "Power, Corruption..." to its
original tracklisting. And a 17 minute version of "Elegia"
from "Low Life"... Oh I'd like them all.

The main discs for each seem to be fine, but the bonus
tracks are of varying and questionable quality.

Needless to say to all interested New Order fans:
DO NOT BUY THESE REISSUES!

I don't know what to do with the 3 I bought so far. Maybe
Rhino or Warners will take them back?

Oh well. I have most of the 12"s and albums at home.
Home....

read this:

"Warner Bros. UK, Rhino, and New Order regret that the
initial pressings of the Collector Editions of Movement,
Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, and
Technique contain some minor audio problems on the bonus
discs. We are now in the process of correcting the problems,
but it should be noted that due to the age and condition of
some of the original source tapes, the sound quality may
vary. A further statement will be issued once the corrected
product is available. At that time, the procedure for
exchanging CD's will be announced. Thank you for your
patience while we resolve this situation."

yes, we are!

I'm not buying the excuse that vinyl was the only source for
some of these tracks.
