quaristice disc 1.

this is so awesome. i love it

its up there with uviol, tewe, surripere and the like for
me.
i reacted to the name first when i saw the title, but now
its actually a really good title.. anyone else find its the
best track of all the quari/quadrange ones? or up there?

i don't mind the track but i don't think it's anything
special. in fact it bores me after a minute or two.

i like to imagine a muddy field, it's raining and there are
tanks there moving around about to engage in battle

hmm i'm with J198 here...

most athmospheric/intense tracks to me are Perlence Range3
and Subrange3. i really want to make a video with these but
i'm lazy... Range 3, an intermission (lol Kubrick reference)
, finally followed by Subrange 3.

Tankraken on SE2 gets into some other stuff that the
original doesn't. I think its the best version. Tkakanren
on QR even more so but it is pretty long.

ya, but i find disc 1 version is better cause it has the
main beat and the vox thing under then it ends.. not that
melody thing at the end like your version..

the third version is better but it doesnt build up to the
vox (loosely calling it vox here) so i dont like that one as
much either..

the melodic part that starts around 2:18 is one of the best
sections. it makes it worth the build up. it compliments
the hypnotic effect that is already there, is abstract
enough for a melody to fit and makes the piece 1000x less
dry.

also i think the versions have some extra
undulating textural work. the weird squiggly vox thing in
the original (assuming we mean the same thing) is nice tho.

of course none of it can touch the theplclcpc

ah, well sorry but i just dont like that melody at 2:18, nor
in the quadrange version..

its just a matter of taste but i like the piece better 'dry'

I didn't enjoy this piece much until a really dreary car
journey. I found myself really locked into it for the first
time and really enjoyed lots of subtle details (especially
in the drum programming) that I hadn't noticed before.
Usually I got bored of it within two minutes, but now I wish
it was twice as long as it is. It's definitely very hypnotic
and its got lots of warm bubbly delicate subtle goodness to
feed your ears with. Great track.

I love everything about it.. But especially the weird
mumbling vox/robot voice thing really does it for me..

Ya, I love this track. This was the first track I ever heard
from Autechre, it was part of a 3 track preview of
quaristice on some internet radio.
