music from the congo from numerous traditions, hypnotic and
incredibly detailed with textures and subtly changing
rhythms. there's often an interplay between electified
mbira (or lukembi, thumb piano) and electric guitar, but
very low key, simultaneously upbeat and mellow. one of the
most interesting new things i've heard.

listen to "quick as white" and "kafuulu balu" and soak it
up.
