US backed Georgia attacks Russian Peace keepers

the us aren't in a position to confront russia directly, but
i would disagree that the US havent been provoking russia
indirectly especially with its saber rattling over Iran.

i don't think they're happy with the current events in
Georgia though... gives them nothing. maybe they were
provoking Russia indirectly but it is an all lose for them
as for now, so why would they provoke? They're now forced
showing inability to intervene towards all their beloved
rogue states (as the events must have been kind of
predictable for Washington, my mere guess is US plainly
doesn't have much influence on the situation at all and this
all is a stupid fault by Georgia which just comes very handy
to Russia and unhandy to US) ...

US should also work on their relationships with Russia
sooner or later in order to face a rising mutual Chinese
threat maybe :P

Georgia over played their hand planing on the UN to help.
The only threat from China is economic, it's not really a
threat, it's a fact.

blaaard, do you think the reports of us soldiers/mercenaries
being captured by the russian side are false? i forgot where
i read it but apparently there is being reported direct Us
military involvement, why who the hell knows. Ill try to
find the one story i read about how the US flew 2,000
Georgians back to Georgia from iraq to help them fight. this
last one im pretty sure has been confirmed.

this didn't happen on US order... afaik Saakashvili begged
for that airlift since Friday, though he first wanted to
pull only 1000 troops, then quickly had to reconsider.
(probably part of a contract involving the troops being
stationed in Iraq..? whatever) And it's only an airlift...
the mercenary/soldier capture i've never heard/read of...

imo this conflict is far less complicated then what all sort
of media want it to look like. What keyfumbler wrote on page
1.

French chappy Sarkosy is trying to mediate with
Moscow.....somehow i think this guy might save everyones
ass. I'd fuckin love that - "the french cheese-eating
surrender monkeys" using good old fashioned diplomacy in
stopping of WW-cubed.

In the end though Georgia is fucked.

CNN Aired Misleading Footage

http://www.russiatoday.com/news/news/28880

Last night I was watching CNN, and they interviewed an
american who had escaped the conflict. The news caster asked
"How are you getting your news" and the girl said "Internet,
cable tv, CNN... it's kind of hard to get the truth because
yesterday CNN reported that there was a second bombing when
in fact there wasn't "

The girl was going to go on but the news caster was like
"How are your kids are they good ? Oh ok we gotta go thank
you for being on tonight, good luck"

lol

We need to start a letter writting campaign. We need to
point out these lies and make sure our local news papers
pick up on them. Will it stop CNN, maybe, maybe not, but at
least the normal people will be aware of the lies they are
being told on some of these huge networks.

The dis information is dangerous. I just listened to John
McCain give a speach and he's like "On Friday Russia invaded
Georgia".

How about Thursday ? How about weeks before the Russians
trying to get peace sanctions at the UN but to no success.
The Georgian leadership is putting their people at risk for
what ? The American government ?

The Georgians have been killing Journalists, plowing down
innocent civilians, and the western media is selling this
story of bad Russia.

War sucks, but at least you can tell us the real story and
not try to build this public opinion that best suits the
business and political interest of a few fat pigs !

Fox can beat any channel for propaganda, and i'm shocked to
see CNN sink so low, I always thought they were pretty
decent compared to Fox.

Georgia risked a quick land grab and it failed, did they
think Russia wouldn't react to protect their people after
1500 were killed in the attack from Georgia? Oh wait, it was
Russia who invaded Georgia wasn't it?

That Georgian prime minister needs to go, no wonder Russia
hates him, "Russia has split Georgia in two", "Ethnic
Cleansing"... "cease fire" when they are still fighting, who
on earth put him in that position, hmmm let me see...

I think the whole things is retarded, right now I think it
is just as important to point out the media lies. I would
for someone to refute what RT is reporting, because right
now it seems like the truth, because CNN is telling such
huge lies.

CNN also reported that one of the towns was bombed on
Saturday, and as one of the callers they were interviewing
said live on air, that was not the case.

It's a video clip of what I was explaining in an above post,
I found it on youtube.

We all have no idea what is going on there and I, for one,
am surprised that so many of you choose to believe official
Russian sources. It was kind of obvious that this war would
happen since Kosovo became an independent state. Many
political analysts agreed that the next step was indeed
going to be South Osetia and Abchasia (sp?). At least here
it seemed to be a very likely conclusion.

"Russian peace forces" next to a country crucial for the
transport of gas??? Give me a fucking break.

Yep, fuck Russia, fuck America. Russia is still first
though.

I'm drunk, oh so pleasantly drunk. Why do you have to ruin
it with your war? Fuck Caucasus!!!!

that was a good read, thanks...

Why can't these breakaway regions become independent or even
part of Russia? They are full of Russian nationals and I
doubt very much they will be wanting to be any part of
Georgia after the attack?

yeah i guess that will happen... Russian administration will
continue to put pressure until Saakashvili is gone, no
doubt.

hmm i just can't quite believe the US analysts' misjudgement
of the situation... who knows though.... maybe Saakashvili
really just had some kind of internal system failure
himself.

Shit, the Americans are sending millitary units to Georgia,
but only to provide "humanitarian aid" as they put it. The

to the Georgians assistance. I don't like this development

The Busher... it's certainly not hard for him to keep up
with S'vili's lack of brain, making things a bit more
delicate? [[ IMO he can't do shit except stirring fear. His
harsh words: signs of impotence. If the Russians are stupid
enough to be teased by this... well it won't happen. IMO ]]

what still boggles me is the suicidal mal-communication
between S'vili and his masters from the Pentagon... is
a NeoCon election ploy the true reason for the conflict? el oh el?
??

Ronald Suny, an expert on the region and a professor at the
University of Michigan, disagrees, and points the finger at
Saakashvili, saying he "absolutely started the crisis," by
invading the breakaway region of South Ossetia in an attempt
to draw American support into the Caucuses.

“I’m shocked. I watched him on several news conferences
now," Suny said. "I’m stunned by the length he goes to
create his own reality.

"You have to ask yourself, why did Saakashvili do this? What
was he thinking?"

Gary Schmitt, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise
Institute, disagrees. Schmitt, director of advanced
strategic studies at the conservative economic and
foreign-policy think tank, said blaming Georgia for
Russia’s aggression is comparable to saying "a young girl
gets raped in the street for wearing a miniskirt."
